Simply put.... He is a squib of the highest order!
Last week, I saw at least 3 goals that were caused directly by him sidestepping a contest. Lucky for him, he kicked 4 himself and was instrumental in the win.
It's games like today though which show how poor he really can be.....
If you can't get a kick, at least put your head behind the ball and bleed for the club. Take a leaf out of BJ's book FFS Dids and GROW A PAIR!

(I know I'm going to get burnt for this but think about what I'm saying before you get stuck in.)

You won't cop criticism from me , he plays selfsih and soft football.

It's so obvious. I find it mystifying how some supporters try to talk him up like he is up there with the absolute elite players in the AFL.

Aaron Davey is afraid of getting hit , but he actually works his arse off when he has to , to chase and tackle the opposition.

That contest in the last quarter when he just stood there and didnt go up was a joke i agree.

Is it too harsh to say he's the Stephen Milne of Collingwood?

He does put his body on the line at time but does remind me of a soccer player who will squib any contact and use his feet instead of putting the head of the ball. Just appreciate that we have an outside player who is a match winner. Cant have it all the times. its easy to criticize but everyone has their faults

Davey single handedly destroyed our midfield and half forwards today!!! Was outstanding!!

I appreciate he can win games for us but every AFL player needs to have the ability to dive on a football, putting their body on the line.
Didak costs us DEARLY in turnovers when he shirks contests.... I just can't fathom how he has gotten away with it for so long without the media catching onto it.

didak is great when he has the balls in his hand - but useless at all other times.

Downhill Skiier?
Front Runner?
Cherry Picker?
Sheep Dog?
Squib?

The rest of the time, brilliant!

You're blind if you disagree with the OP. Alan Didak is my favourite player, and even I see it, clear as day, that just isn't good enough when the footy isn't in his hands. He positions himself in selfish positions way too often, he doesn't put in the same effort when the opposition has the footy, and some times, like that contest in the last quarter, right infront of me, he plain and simply looked like an idiot, not even creating a contest, and it could've cost us the game. Speaking of stupidity, how stupid was Cloke's punch in the last quater straight to 3 Dees defender with about 30 metres of corridor space infront of them to rebound, leaving us for dead.

I am probably wrong but i think that may have been ball's punch

In a word...no. But seriously, he's been in the system how long? Its not as if he appeared recently by way of a turnip truck. For good or ill, you know what you are going to get from him, which is finishing quality few others can bring which nonetheless requires everyone else to do the hard work to make it work. And that is not going to change at this late stage, so really, just move on.

You're all a f***ing disgrace

Some of you who have never stepped onto a football field in your life and wouldnt have a clue what is asked for from Didak are having an unreasonable go at him

Yeah he wasnt that good today, but who was? You see one incident and everyone calls him lazy, selfish etc. Get off it.

No, I doubt his buddy Leon will ever grow a pair either. We can't afford to have both these ********s in the team against the Saints, surely? I respect that they're outside finighers but ffs you've got to put your body on the line when it's your turn to go.

He's been doing it his whole career.
You are blinded Frankie!!!

without knowing specificially what is asked of didak - i'm sure it's not what he's delivering. he NEVER puts his body on the line - time after time his tackles don't slip - if theres any chance of any physical contact he'll try to toe poke the ball rather than put his head down to pick it up.

it has nothing to do with today - but more a trend over the past couple of years. he really needs to lift his game if he's going to be considered a good player.

and to think he was compared do daicos in another thread last week...

The bolded section is EXACTLY what I'm talking about!!!
Did that exact thing at least twice last week and both resulted in goals.
I remember saying to my mate that Didak owes us two goals.... Luckily, he gave us 2 pretty much straight away.

fully agree frankie. none of our players fired today but fickle fans on their keyboards are quick to judge players. next week he'll be a star and the same people will be bowing their heads and saying what a champion he is.
