I have work from 6-10 WA time so should be okay with all my changes. I think it closes at 5.40 WA time doesnt it ?

and the teams are announced from 3.00-3.40 WA time?? (5-5.40 EST)

No. I won't even try. The CPU load would probably be 7-8 times more than normal, and it wouldn't be cost effective for Virtual Sports to have that amount of memory all the time. Plus the fact that the 'Save' button has been brought in to protect teams falling apart would also suggest that they're preparing for server issues.

So logistically and realistically, no.

I have a lecture from 3 til 6 WA time - will be on AFL website whole time. Hopefully the uni internet holds up!

At this stage wont be changing much unless too many of my rookies arent named.

Shouldnt we all just go on to annoy those who are trying to make last minute changes... :p
Yes. If you try to make changes in the last 2 hours you deserve absolutely everything you get:)

You sound like the capacity planning group from my company. Gibberish of the unfounded type. ;)

No kidding. I work with systems and application development, and I can tell you that bullshiting comes with the territory. :D

Just read some of the emails Virtual Sports had sent to people last year...

I managed to make 2-3 changes last season even after all the teams came out. About 10 mins later, that was impossible.

So I'm guessing at about 5:45 - 6:00, it will begin to struggle. I'm certain all my starting players will be selected anyway and should have adequate cover just in case. So I suggest selecting your emg (and capt) before Thursday.

I made a rookie swap last year half an hour before lockout and it finally processed with 1 minute left. Was so relieved counting down the final few seconds looking at my team.

I don't think there'll be too many problems this year TBH. After what happened last year, and with what happened to the NRL DT site just a week or so ago, you'd think they'd take all available measures to ensure the DT site runs smoothly. Having said that, I think I'm gonna back my judgement regarding my team, so I won't be too phased if a player isn't named (well, I hope I won't be anyway). My only query is who to name my backline emergency.

Lol yeah I made a few before lockout. I was about to put Nicoski in for Ellis but was saved by the lag. I did manage to get Didak in for Monfries though. :D
