Looks pretty happy :D.

In all fairness though, Burgoyne will absolutely gun it for you guys. Going to be extremely difficult for clubs to decide who to tag :(.

Going to make for an interesting game next year, that's for sure. Hopefully Campbell doesn't slap him :p.

Well he's laughing at something Matthew Knights just said so it's quite obviously an act.

We all know Knights is about as funny as hemorrhoids...

"What really pleased us was that Mark made it clear that he wanted to come to the Essendon Football Club badly"
Clearly an act though, came to Essendon as a bit of a joke

Can't you guys just be happy for him? Gave you some pretty good service, helped you aquire a player you desperately wanted.

So apparentyl knights was after him for a while and Willo has been keen to leave for a while, well why is every one carrying on like pork chops that we shouldnt had lead him go, it seems now that he was gone long before any one knew...

I love Willo but from i have been hearing he wanted to leave long before this trade period, and if so then why is Hawthorn getting a battering from the media for trading a premiership player when he left us...

:thumbsu:Really liked Willo, His grand final was GOLD!!

Hope he plays well at Essendon but would have loved to keep him at the hawks.

That's football mate...

I'll always be grateful for his years of service at our club and his role in our 2008 GF victory. And whilst I do wish him all the best in future, now that he plays for the scum, I'm morally obliged to hang sh*t off him at every opportunity...;)

Because that's how the media works. They latch onto things they think will help sell papers.

I think we all know that Jeff really meant they wouldn't be pushing any premiership players out the door. If the player wanted to leave however, there's nothing else you could do.

Williams wanted out, the Hawks were nice enough to allow him that, even though he had a year left on his contract. Though it did help them get Burgoyne anyway.

These fotos kill me. Unfortunate he wanted to leave. Thanks for your contribution Willo BUT seriously you are fair game next year!

Its guna be hard to watch him play in different colors, and especially when he plays againts us, i wish him all the best ,i just feel bit let down that he left...
Oh well we got our man so can't complain too much...

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Williams, and for that matter, Kennedy and McGlynn wanted to leave. But none of that matter because Jeff said 'It is my wish that no premiership player gets put up for trade'.....that of course translates into 'Kennett is a hypocrite' to the media and football public.

We did not put players up for trade. Clubs enquired about our players, and because people will have selective hearing, we will get portrayed as the bad guys again.

By the way, seeing Williams in Essendon gear makes me rather nauseous. He has been a terrific player for us. Super finals series last year. He will shine for Essendon if he is played as he was for us in 2004-2005 as the main lead up target. He was red hot for a while there before he got injured and a certain young star was given a try at Full Forward.

Mate I couldn't be happier for someone playing for another team. I loved Willo, he's been fantastic for us . The worst thing is he makes me hate you guys less.

Really happy to have him. Always rated him high and admired the way he held your forward line together pre Buddy and Roughy. A little in the shadows for the past 2 years but hopefully plays great for the Bombers. May have 4 or 5 years in him at Essendon and will be great to watch.

My heart really sinks seeing Willo in scum colours. Ive loved watching him play over his career - his one-two goal with Dew is one of my favourite moments from the GF.

Hope he plays out an injury free career from here - so long as he struggles against us. ;)
