Why would I be laughing? We lost a gun player for nothing just stating the fact that a lot of people on this board were whinging and whining and saying he wouldn’t get a game And wasn’t worth anything in return.

Quote someone saying he wouldn't get a game. We said said he wouldn't get on the park, thats a fair assumption for a guy who had played 2 half seasons in 4 years. I am not trying to be a dick, but with some of the issues your players have had in the past 3 years (being unfit, lots of soft tissue injuries), do you think if he stayed he'd be in as good a nick as he is right now? He's a better than average player in his position when fit but had huge troubles getting fit. We will never know exactly what was offered/ rejected as the media is full of shit, but if you believe them we offered our pick 33 after we split 27 and they were trying to get a contracted Georgiades into the trade some how. Our position was pretty reasonable.

People on this board were taking issue with west coast fans wanting the world for a player with riolis issues more so than his quality.

You’re trying to rewrite history to make out we said he’s shit, when reality is the general sentiment was he’s good, but he’s not the star west coast fans are making him out to be and we shouldn’t be paying a mint for a player with his record.

Lol I just remembered there was a west coast supporter that said rioli was in the top 3 (or was it 5?) most talented players in the league.

Anybody who doubted that Rioli had the capability to play a game like the one he played on the weekend is an idiot. The issue with him was (and still is) consistency of availability and consistency of performance. He hasn't played more than 14 games in a season since 2018.

I'm absolutely owned here. His work on the outside of centre clearances amazed and delighted me. My 'knowledge' of him was only as an opportunistic forward. He was like Steven Motlop always promised to be.

We paid exactly what he was worth at the West Coast.
Also keeping in mind we could and should have taken him for nothing when he was at Glenelg.

That did bother me at the time due to the fact that we had him at the club he was an obvious talent and anyone at the club who had anything to do with him loved him but we thought it was a bit too hard to sort out his weight issues?

The lad at Centrals nobody wants who has similar issues and similar talent Isaiah Dudley?
Port will waste time and money on players who have nowhere near his obvious athletic potential it wouldn’t hurt to try and get hold of him and help him out.

Champion Data had Junior as BOG due to his usage in the forward half.

(28:36) - Very short mention.

14 forward half touches (8 contested), 8 score involvements including kicking 3.0 is a massive game for a small forward. I am excited about what he can do this season.

He was so good. It's hard for a small forward to back that up every week, but if we get 10 games anywhere near that level from him this year it's a huge level up for our forward line.

Yep ill be honest i wasnt a fan of the pick up, and still want to see more than one game to change my mind.
But it wasnt talent, it was work ethic, what we looked like paying him (leading to complacency) and his off field dramas that had me concerned.
If he trains well, we keep him in check and he consistently produces half of what he did on the weekend ill happily apologize!

No I'm not. I'm well aware of the Mean Girls vibe that goes on here and trying just to stick to stuff about Port and/or footy. But I won't accept being bundled into the abusive clique.

I'm missing the abuse bit. Alberton Proud's post was very reasonable IMO.

P'raps you're just a touch sensitive. Are you Ken?

Let's not derail Junior's thread. (And I loved his game so much on the w/e).

Take Hinkley-related talk to the appropriate thread. It's not a clique, though of course it started small, as all things do. It's the vast majority of this board, and the wider Port community.

Pretty confident he was posting about both port and footy. You accused me of abuse too for expressing a valid opinion on another thread. If you're gonna be that precious about stuff posted here you're gonna have a tough time enjoying yourself.

Yeah **** yas for ripping us off.

Jokes lads. I posted earlier how good he is. Big game player as well.

I think you can understand a few eagles fans being salty for what transpired while he was on our list.

He's good value to watch that's for sure.

Bloke was looking a genuine star 2019 I think. Was getting 20 touches and 3 goals, covering about 14-15kms playing a bit higher up.

Then got hot spots in his foot, pissed gatorade, and dacked an Oz.

But he has massive talent and that sort of production in him.

Your saltiness is a little childish. We all knew that he can play. That was never in doubt, His checkered history though, meant that you were always going to lose him for less than his potential worth.

We have lost our share of Vic players on the cheap. It's just the way it is!
We haven’t lost our share of players anywhere on the cheap.

Yeah never doubted he could play. Just whether he'd play.
