If I was at the club and had a say, I'd be thinking what better way to drum up a bit if excitement for the coming season (2016) and to re brand in a sense and honour a bit of our heritage. If we have another underwhelming year next year then it will work even better. We all saw how well the original premiership anniversary guernsey sold in 02, which showed the club how popular the wings design was and how the fans missed it.

Also the fact that they had the article printed in the EE magazine likely well before the meeting with the boys on here, shows they had listened previously and were seriously considering it, I doubt they would have bothered meeting with "us" if they hant already had a lot of talk about it and had thought it was a good idea.

With 3 jumpers (navy royal gold) there's no reason we can't just have them on rotation. Each jumper gets worn 7 or 8 times per season, regardless of home or away. Easy.
If that was the case then WC would have to get 6 different jumpers made up (home, away and clash in h/a sponsor arrangement).

Yeah never going to happen. I was thinking about freos guernseys and how they just wear the purple away I the white clashes, they don't invert the sponsors, just the home guernsey, worn away. It makes me wonder what sort of arrangement we have with our sponsors, and why it's so rigid that we can't wear our away guernsey at home if needed, like against the tigers a while back. Would it really make a difference if their company name is on the front or the back of the guernsey??

We're the second richest AFL club in Australia, and we can't afford 2 sponsor versions of each strip?

Beggars belief.

I think they have an agreement with their sponsors for one home and away game, they wear the away jumper at home once a year.

They have 2 versions of white, so we still have the Home sponsors when we play "Away" against Fremantle.

From what Gary said, even when we're "Home" in a grand final, we wear "Away" sponsors configuration.
Which means we actually have a Perth and interstate sponsor arrangement - not Home vs Away.

I think there is so many things our club needs to do to improve the fan experience.
They've been stuck in a rut for a few years (not just on the field).
× The crappy "Go Eagles Go" thing over the PA (which is just removing the "SGIO" from the rubbish PA attempt from a few years ago)
× The new wedgetail Eagle which is not interested in flying around the stadium
× The advertising for flavoured milk, casino, etc. dressed up as entertainment
etc.

It is all tired and we are starting to be shown up by clubs who are forced by circumstances to improve the live experience Port Power, Western Sydney Wanderers, Brisbane exploring options that included a live lion, etc.

This complacency comes with having a backlog of potential members. Is the consulting without committing to anything on jumpers a sign of starting to listen or making an effort or is it just a token thing?

We could in 2009.

There was a minor controversy last year cos Freo were given the option to wear purple by the AFL but chose not to
They were given the option of wearing the purple jumper with white shorts. They took the right option.

The Perth vs interstate sponsor thing doesn't make sense because because both are on each guernsey, either front or back. As the above pics of 09, we only had 2 guernsey, so 4 sets, now we have three and usually one home game a year where we wear a "home" clash so still 4 sets, not sure if that's how they look at it, as in how many sets a year they can produce but it's the same now as it was in 09.

Stocks on twitter says public can vote as of next Friday (sorry I cant retweet atm)

They have contracts to be on front/back depending on location. I don't like it, but it does make sense.

We have 4 jumper sets now: 1 x Royal, 1 tri-panel, 2 x white. Same number as 2009.

Do public votes count less than members? If not, what's the point of making members only to start?
I suspect they want to have a look at the way that is trending first.

And each one of those sets has at least 2 sets, if you know what I mean.

Maybe - but if it was West Coast, I'd like to think we would have chosen to wear Royal with the white shorts. Would have been ropable if they chose white.
Oh for sure, but Freo's white jumper is very different to ours. It's their core jumper, and really their away jumper - not a clash so much.
