Lets face it Stupido has broken open more games than Junior did and Woey is better than Mick - unbelievable the two players I most slagged as opposition players may now end up at Arden Street - Bizarre!
Actually it's bloody typical. I wasn't impressed with Jason McCartney coming accross initially but he won me over quickly. Robert Scott also.

Goes to underline that the term 'footy is a funny game' in more ways than one. :p Question remains if they are 'up to it still' which is a grave concern when they have been delisted in the circumstances they have been. Woewoden finished SECOND in the Pies B&F which really surprises me they let him go.

Hopefully the Cupido thing was more a personality conflict / immaturity thing that held him back.

Completely inappropriate place to post, but last week Sophia Eloise Nevbuster joined the world at 4.14kgs. Another girl, but no waste I was a crap footballer so I've got no doubt if I had a son he would be too.
Congrats Nevbuster. Don't be hard on yourself. It's the future membership focus that's important. Don't forget Keith Greig's son wasn't exactly a star either.

Bring 'em both on I say. There's absolutely ZERO harm in having them both train with us firstly. Laids has made it clear that he'll be looking first and foremost for their hunger to play and be involved with our great club. Woewodin's character is without question and, given the little financial risk if he did do well enough to get picked up by us, COULD be a very handy type to have amongst our extended list. As said earlier, he'd be replacing Picioane!!

Cupido.........ok, so his committment has been nothing short of s'house hitherto now..........again, we'd have little at risk and IF, and only IF, the coaching staff and senior group see that elusive hunger in him then maybe he could well be a perfect filler for the forward role we hoped Junior would play for us this year.

In summary...........I don't see any problem at all in them training with us. Cupido will have it drummed into him that he's on his very last chance at AFL footy and, at the very least, Woey is a quality bloke to have around and to give other longer term Roos' a bit of pressure to lift. Win win all around as I see it.

The best thing is that they want to be with OUR club. Give it your best boys and if you're willing to fight tooth and nail for a spot on our list, and you're successful, then I'm happy.........no complaints from me.

Go Roos!

Very good post and i agree!

If they prove to be good enough then pick them up!

Woey takes on Sir Lance
(Brownlow medal and B&F vs ?????)

Sounds like a fair swap!!!

Good point. I will dedicate the next 10 years of my life ensuring my kids don't end up Eagles supporters like everyone else over here. If they end up Dockers supporters I will auction them on Ebay.

Jason McCartney Woodson? haha You have got to be kidding me!! probabaly if not THE luckiest player to play 200 games.... ****** of a player... obviously great bloke but football abilities were below limited! soft, clumsy, stiff, outmarked, slow and NO BRAINS AT ALL....

I think you can delete the soft part. Not the greatest player in the world but was by no means soft.Clark Keating would have a different opinion of that.Didn't have a lot of natural ability but always did his job.

what? he smashed Keating in the face a minute after he took a mark running back with the flight of the ball mid air.... and got 4 weeks and helped us win the granny.... thats not tough..... he also hit Everitt from behind to and got 2 or 3 weeks for it..... he did stupid dives to make himself look tough when in reality it was Pickett, Archer, Pike, Martyn etc who carried him through and made him look like some hee man! Week in week out he would get carved up by the same opponents who did it to him the year before... and the year before that and before that... just a complete hack.

It makes sense to me.

IN: Cupido, Woewoedin

OUT: Shane Harvey, Picioane
Yep.

Couldn't of summed it up better.

And to people calling these two 'hacks'.

Woewodin has what we lack, good foot skills and he also adds another strong body in the middle. He's won a Brownlow medal you know?

Cupido, certainly no hack. Attitude problems YES. The class is there though, with a late draft pick or a pre-season draft pick the risk is minimal and the upside is huge.

Did I mention how much I love Dean Laidley?

If we pick up Cupido, and our management is still wondering this very thought, well than he has exactly what Daniel Motlop has.......Skill and hes a goal kicker.

Woey > Lance
Cupido (at his best) > Motlop.....but this is a long shot.

PS: Apollo? I love you too.

Jason McCartney, when in his prime for the Roos, was one of the best CHB's in the game.

Very important to our set-up back than.

I would be quite happy if we picked up Cupido and Woewodin with two late picks. We have nothing to lose except for two late picks which will probably amount too nothing.
