Weather in Melbourne should be fine for the four days. The question for me is can this game go a 4th day? On form, one says no.
You have to go back to February 2003 to find an Women's Ashes Test that did not make it to a 4th day. The last 13 have all made a 4th day and the only one to get a result out of the last 4 only did so because it was a 5 day Test.

I am reading Cricinfo stats, and there have been 154 Test matches played in the history of womens cricket. The last draw was in 2022 in Taunton between England and South Africa.

Reading in that match 91.4 overs in the 1st Innings for SA, 120 overs by England in their 1st innings, South Africa batted 68.1 overs in their 2nd dig. Am assuming that a few overs were lost because of bad weather.

Yes that would be right.

Will probably be a significanly smaller crowd than what they were hoping for given England has been so shite.
Also potentially a factor that the mens side are playing a test match on the same days at virtually the same time. May not affect attendance but will affect Tv viewership

I assume the womens test will be hidden away on 7 mate since ch 7 are also broadcasting the mens test.
Shame the series is already decided as it will lower interest in this match.

I agree that even if Healy plays she likely doesn't keep - maybe in the slips or something instead

If both Healy & Gardner are declared fit, who from the T20 side misses - Voll & Harris seem most likely

Considering the trouble they've had playing our leg spinners, surely both King & Wareham play, which would mean going in with only 2 front line pace bowlers, but with all-round options of Sutherland, McGrath & Perry, I think we can cover not playing 3 outright pace bowlers

I’m going, anyone else going?

I'm going to try to go Friday

I wanted to go tomorrow also, but I tried to blow up my car engine last week - one of the hoses connected to the cooling system failed mid-drive, with a sudden warning that my engine was about to overheat

It's booked in for the mechanics tomorrow, so I'm hoping it's easily repairable and not out of action for much longer
