Since merging in 1991, the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles have been one of the more successful clubs in the SANFL. In their 19 years of existence they've won 2 premierships, made 7 GF's and been in the finals 15 times.

But they've never been able to settle on a jumper, which has somehow resulted in them having the absolute worst jumper in the league!

Woodville-West Torrens Jumper Progression

From this...

...to this flashy number (who doesn't love gradients?!)...

...to this jumper that appears relatively normal...

Bigfooty jumper designers, can you please help this fashionably-disabled club by designing a good-looking jumper that they can proudly wear for many years to come.

There are only two rules;
1. You must use the club colours, which as you may have noticed are blue (west torrens), green (woodville) and yellow (both clubs).
2. Gradients are strictly forbidden!!!

P.S. I forgot to add the super-fugly yellow gradient-eagle jumper......possibly even worse than the new one!!!

Well i missed this

but seeing as the ochre only breaks two of the rules, and its such an awesome jumper, i'm sure you'll let it slide

Yes, the first one is great. Annoys me that clubs feel the need to update just for the sake of it and to move with the times. Very happy that many clubs in the AFL have stuck with the tried and true. We are starting to get a bit lost with fashion and all these images and pictures of animals on jumpers if you ask me. (Says the bloke whose own club has a picture of a rooster on it).

is this the official request from the club?

No it's just been on my mind. It really annoys me that they started out with something half decent and have somehow managed to uglify things beyond all recognition!

I like this! Reminds me of the first one they had. It could even look good with the yellow bar raised a bit to increase the blue/decrease the green. Socks are perfect imo.

Not sure about WWT getting a promotion to the AFL though. ;)

Top effort craxzydan. :thumbsu:

No way!!! That thing has gradients on steriods and acid at the same time!!!;)

I had a go at raising the yellow bar on your design craxzydan (like I mentioned in the previous post). I reckon it looks alright.....sort of reminds me of the current socceroos kit.

I added the old school West Torrens Eagles logo underneath because there was a bit too much empty space in the blue part. I know that I slammed the cartoon eagles that WWT love using on their jumpers, but I think this "traditional" eagle logo looks good.....sort of like the old Fitzroy logo that Brisbane had on its jumper before they employed the services of the paddle pop lion.

Spot on I reckon. Traditional emblems like this one, the Fitzroy Lion, Vermont Eagle, Edithvale-Aspendale Eagle, ect are great. Just the cartoon animals and graphic art animals that turn me off.

Stylized graphic animals aren't all bad - the triangular Hawk head of the 1980s was a classic, and the Western Bulldog head is pretty entrenched now.

(Not saying they're all good either. 1980s West Coast Eagle head anyone?)

If you absolutely must have an animal, make it a silhouette - it's a footy jumper, not a National Geographic.

So you're saying

?

Gotta disagree with you there. Big time.

Then again, I'm biased :p

Yes. I think that Hawk is pretty definitive, highly recognisable... doesn't look like it's squinting.
And that Eagle is better than any eagle design that's come since.

By the way, I quite like the "ochre" jumper, but it sure as heck looks RED not ochre. I got to see it often on TV as West Coast wore it as a clash strip at home against Richmond :) It's probably my favourite gradient jumper.

The one that Scott Welsh is wearing would be perfect without the eagle on it but maybe as a clash. I can't do any of the graphic work lads. How about one of you 'artists' show us a kit based on the traditional Footscray jumper. You know what I mean.
