I think that Worsfold's record overall is good enough that we are not bound to let him go. In the absence of an outstanding replacement that's good enough for me.

Those arguing for a change need to make that case.

If we sack Worsfold, we have no coach. If you want him to go, you have to be able to say who you want instead. Otherwise, you're stuck in limbo with half an argument.

Stupid comment right here.
You don't sack anyone, you just don't resign him, simple as that.
We say thanks Woosha, but we wont be offering you a new contract.
We then start the process , it might take 4-6 weeks but there are plenty of great coaches out there, you must WANT CHANGE first, look at Hinkley at Port, he was a an assistant for 8 years, but can he coach....F*** hes brilliant, don't be so narrow minded or you will live a shallow life.

Worsfold's overall record is good enough that we are not duty-bound to sack him. And if no one can make a real case for a replacement, then it makes sense to keep him.

I don't think he should be sacked, but he doesn't deserve a contract extension.

My opinion. His football IQ is one of the worst in the league, if you have the seasons '05 to '07 on DVD, load them up and view a number of the matches. We've always been out coached on game day, we were labelled the 'comeback kings' because other coaches could expose our match ups. We were just fortunate enough to have some amazing talent on the field at the time.

For me, the alarm bells went off when we lost the last NAB match against Port, we fielded our strongest team and got smacked out of the park by a team of youngsters and an inexperienced coach. It really did set the tone for a miserable year.

I can read - the issue is that you won't answer the question.

You want Worsfold to go. Who should replace him?

The best candidate that applies for the job, whether that be Adam Simpson, Blake Caracella, Paul Roos or Rodney Eade. I am positive that we will get the best candidates apply and the board will choose the best one. However I don't really want Scott Burns. I believe a coach should come from outside of our system and do what Malthouse did to us in the 90s and what Lyon is doing currently at Freo. I really want a coach who is going to come in and tell some 'Home Truths' to some players and get our players playing together for the jumper. Something I haven't seen all year.

What does that mean? Are you talking to yourself?

Would you have predicted that it made sense for Port to appoint Ken Hinkley senior coach?

You're happy to say there's nobody better to appoint as senior coach as Worsfold based on AFL record? Are you currently warming up a crack pipe?

Turn it up.
I don't see the sense of merely appointing a 'fresh face', as you put it.

If you can make a case for a replacement on merit, then say so.

Overall record? The three years in the wilderness between 2008 - 2010 were coach killers, if not for the favourite son connection. This season's efforts have effectively written off the efforts of the two. Your blind devotion is staggering, almost Essendonesque.
Blind devotion? Don't be so melodramatic.

Why don't you make the case for a replacement?

OK - thanks for the self-help, champ.

Who do you want to replace Worsfold?

It's a straightforward question but you are so far unable or unwilling to give a specific answer.

That was until we got arse rammed by the Colliwobblers tonight...........I hope they don't resign him.
But with all the Essendon drama, freo in the finals , I don't think much will come of it...as previous poster said
If Woosha really loves WC and wants the best for the club he should just walk away.

Did you really expect to beat Collingwood on the rebound with a B grade team take the backline with Brown ,Smith ,Sheppard ,Maginnity and a newcomer in Wilson these guys are developing and it truly is one week at a time with them. Some weeks if the opposition is weak they play well and when up against strong teams they struggle ..

I don't know what that means.

If he is still yet to re-sign with Hawthorn, do you think Alistair Clarkson would be someone WCE should talk to?

Sure. He would be an obvious candidate. Not sure how realistic it would be to expect him to change clubs given Hawthorn is right in the middle of a premiership window.

I don't see the sense of merely appointing a 'fresh face', as you put it.

If you can make a case for a replacement on merit, then say so.

Where's your merit? I have already asked you.

So accepting what we have now because "worsfold's overall record is GOOD ENOUGH" is normal football leadership practice?

Where the **** did you learn football? University?

Typical ****ing conservative nonsense. To the right, good sir...

We need to take a punt.

Melodramatic? Are you aware of the meaning of the word? I think I've been anything but melodramatic.

Until you actually put up an actual defence for Worsfold, an actual case for the mediocre performances, then perhaps we will honour you with the response you crave. Bringing up his record misleading when you have two champion Brownlow medalists running around on the park in Cousins and Judd, but his record since their departure has been abysmal. I would really like to hear your opinion on why he should be retained despite being out coached on a regular basis, and an apparent inability to effectively communicate the game plan to players. Those 3 years were really the most depressing years of West Coast's history, and tonight wasn't too far far off.

Hey! Leave gunnar alone!

Yes, that's a good point. I wonder what it would take to get him here... We have some amazing players on our list. Hopefully Clarkson would like the challenge of making this a champion team?...

Accusing me of "blind devotion" is melodramatic.

I'm merely asking that those who want Worsfold to go should make a cogent argument for a replacement.

Until you actually put up an actual defence for Worsfold, an actual case for the mediocre performances, then perhaps we will honour you with the response you crave.
It's incumbent upon those calling for a change to outline the end result of that change i.e. who would coach the team if they got their way?

The asterisks and capital letters mark you out as a real man of letters.

Who do you think should coach the team?
