Just feels like besides the few cool wins for the INT, the depth of US talent is just too hard to surpass every time. Enjoy the event/format but how can it be more competitive in future I wonder

it will never happen(because it would require the PGAT to dilute its ownership of the one substantial product it owns outright) but turning it into a mixed event would be fantastic. And 12 of the top 20 women in the OWGR would be INTs. 6 of them are Yanks.

Will that be A Scott’s last P Cup? His exemptions next year should see him earn a swag of points - will that carry through to 26 so he can cop another spanking at Medinah?

I expect him to make himself available for KH.

I was questioning whether he will still be good enough to get picked. This time last year I think he would have needed a captain’s pick? Two years takes him to 46. In his favour is he still seems to have the hunger. And ball speed.

As much as we all love Scott, his P Cup record is pretty ordinary. Like most Internationals!

Found picking Day to lead the charge yesterday mind boggling. They could not find a spot for him in 8 matches on saturday and knowing they must get off to a hot start they chose Day out first.
The Americans are too good we all get that but Captain Wier never gave his side a chance leading with Day. They had to load up with the i form of the weekend at the top.
Hideki first up, followed by one of the Canadians maybe and then SW Kim etc.
I know it's all easy in hindsight but Day is out of his depth staring down Schauffele.

The science of picking match play match-ups via the snake format is pretty close to voodoo - but yes, the oddity was more not playing Day(and the three others) in both of the Saturday sessions.

Weir's biggest error was not picking Cam Davis - he was #8 in the standings FFS.

Ripper field for the Dunhill. Should be good viewing.

Yeah, really good field, with Rory & Rahm both falling short in events lately that one would expect them to win, it begs the question is another roughie going to storm home over the top of them? I was a bit shocked when I looked at the tournament Monday morning {when I went to bed halfway through the last round Rahm was up by a shot and I thought the very hot favourite would win} to see that he got beat by a nobody, I say that in the nicest way possible as I've never heard of him and his last five starts were terrible, the fact that he nailed Jon in the playoff, good luck to him, its changed his life, but betting wise getting nailed by a 500-1 shot especially if you've plonked on Rahm, you would expect him to win, but over the years on both tours we've seen it doesn't matter how big a reputation you've got, in a playoff its 50/50!

It’s almost like the universe is telling you golf punting is no bueno.

It's a problem when the wind doesn't blow. Not sure how they fix it, there would be mutiny if they made more trivial changes to the layout.
There's a pretty simple solution - roll the ball back(make it shorter than the current proposal) and shrink driver heads. Just for the top level.

How good would it be to see players having to regularly hit long irons into greens?

Easiest solution i reckon would be to make these guys play the old course on their knees

Either that or make bunkers a hazard again. Basically make them to be impossible to hit forward out of. Make them such a hazard that you simply must avoid at all cost.

We are talking about St.Andrews which amongst its 112 bunkers has some of the toughest in golf. Road hole being the most notable. Sands of Nakajima ring a bell?

Yes but they are not as difficult for these modern day players. They go in them and then just lob it on the green. Fairway bunkers it should be impossible to move the ball forward. Must play out sideways is your only option.
