Of course they have the time to do that on the PGA Tour. Most of them are just boring self absorbed twats.

Rory has to take solace in the fact Nicklaus has more runner ups the wins in majors.

But gee. Probably won’t get closer then that for sometime

he won't take solace in that; Jack has 18 of them. Rory has 4. hes more aligned to Greg Norman now....

it absolutely sucks for Rory he has been a top 10 player for the past decade and hasn't got a single major in all that dominance.

it is a brutal game

Yep, big choke from Rory.

He's had near misses in the past where a random has just had the week of their life and out-played him (Wyndam Clark for example) but he lost this one.
Cam Smith in The Open comes to mind. Hasn’t been remotely close to that level since.

Bogeyed 3 of the last 4. Geez. Handed BDC the Trophy on a platter

No way. Bryson 100% earned this.

He went into the day with a 3 shot lead and he got an Up and Down from a 50 yd bunker shot to win. Hardest shot in golf.

As much as Rory lost it, BDC won it.

But 2 shots up before the 14th. In pole position. Hard to not think of what if.

golf is a game of halving your losses. Especially in the US Open

The narrative will be that Rory choked, but Bryson 100% won this.

You simply cannot miss that putt on 16. It was a straight 3 footer - no-one should miss it.

The missed putt on 18 was at least hard - putting a ball well outside the hole from 3ft is a tough putt.

But the real problem is how many times over the 4 days did Rory miss the green with a 9 iron or wedge? He leaks way too many shots to win.

Trying to think of a more clutch bunker shot in a major. Was there a hole out during the same 18th hole when van de velde choked in 1999?

Crap lie, tree root and under branches is my natural habitat.

Have to wonder why he changed his driver head though, didn’t seem to hit a fairway all day.

Have to feel for mcilroy, it was a big time choke. Don’t know how he will hold a lead in a major again with those demons that will probably always be there.

He has been the most consistent in that time though- while JT, Spieth, Smith, Day, Fowler all have gone downhill.
Even Koepka and DJ are irrelevant lately.

It’s a very brutal game.

yes, 16 was the killer. He dropped some bombs early. Still ended up gaining over 2 shots SG: Putting compared to his season average of 0.3.

Not sure you can say he leaks too many shots to win when he just lost by one. And you certainly can't say that if you look at his SG data.

Edit: his putt on 16 was 2 feet 6 inches!

He shot over par in the final round and needed someone else to bogey three of the last four.

Thats why Golf is played over 4 rounds..........Not one. You could argue the only reason Rory was in contention is because Bryson had a bad final day.

Bryson put the effort in yesterday to give himself the 3 shot lead to give himself the buffer.

Bryson also had the most Birdies of the tournament and led most stats - he 100% earned this.

This tells you all you need to know. Rory hit fairways off the tee but was shithouse in approach shots and putting.

Bryson had much more even spread across all.
