Jaysus.

Judging Pagan extremely harshly. Wound up with a perfect storm in terms of list management - ageing team, no draft picks worth even thinking about. Shocking poisoned chalice.
You mean Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs, both no. 1 picks, and JJ Kennedy, who now tears up for West Coast?

Michael Voss of current coaches who've had a fair amount of time at the helm.

I know he's a favourite son and what not, but how he and the club as a whole escapes scrutiny is beyond belief.

The club as a whole is doing very nicely thanks for asking and doesn't change it's coaches on a whim the way some clubs do. Michael Voss will be judged by the club based on clearly spelt out criteria. Brisbane has virtually rebuilt itself in three years.

Crazy Voss is gone.

Four wins to 10 is a pretty good season, he's certainly not done with yet.

Kevin Bartlett shouldn't be in the thread, had to purchase weights for the boys and coached during the S.O.S campaign when the club nearly shut shot. He then was unfairly sacked after recruiting Richmond's next generation of players that succeeded under Northey and Frawley until Leon Daphne and Danny Frawley truly ****ed it up.

Damien Drum and Chris Connelly would dead heat.

Chris Connelly actually had 1 decent season with Freo in which they made the finals.

Damien Drum contributed to what will be their worst ever season for a long, long, looooong time with that year they went 2-20.

Freo made the finals twice under Cuddles.

Leaving Freo aside, if anybody has ever heard Ken Judge on the radio/doing WAFL commentary for the ABC it's actually unbelievable that he was considered coach material at any stage of his life and that includes U9's, absolute pillock and he genuinely sounds like he has a learning disorder.

+1 for Peter Rohde.

Coached a couple of years and achieved SFA.
Can't believe we got this far and no one has mentioned Mark Neeld.

He had everything. Incompetence. Plain rude and evil with the playing group. Horrendous media performer. Stubborn and shocking game plan. Actually recruited for the long term pretty well but his short term pick ups were Byrnes, Gillies, Rodan were just horrendous. Gave those first two both two year deals.

Anyway on Rohde I thought he was ok. Just a garden variety bad coach. Actually set the dogs up well with some extra draft picks to then have a nice sustained shot at success under Rocket.

Proof positive that all those faceless apparatchiks joe public belatedly finds out about as being responsible for team-x's success should remain just that.

Huge difference between being an excellent middle manager and a capable CEO. Brendan McCartney's probably at the crossroads in this regard.
