Stevie J says hi!

And yeah, Rioli and Franklin were shittrucks in 08 hey. Floggo!

Where do we start with this one?

'07 Norm Smith
'09 did **** all, played injured but did have the crucial possession to set it up to Ablett in the centre for Scarlett to toe poke. Still had the poise to hold his nerve and execute in a pulsating contest late in the game. (as opposed to Shanklin, shanking them)
'11 close to Norm Smith again playing on one leg after hurting his knee in the PF and there being a question mark over him playing all week.

Surely there could be others more worthy.

From my team, Toby Thurstans... But we wouldn't have won it on the day without him, he stood tall when Brisbane came at us 2nd quarter and kicked two pressure goals each side of half time.

Tough call. As you say, he was important in '04 and I thought he was Port's best in '07. Kept having a dip all day, look silly a couple of times giving away free kicks but it was only because he was trying to get something happening.

Very harsh.

THe trolling in this thread is quite poor. Many of you are lacking fitness.

The same Stevie J who won the Norm Smith in '07 and kicked 4 goals on one leg in '11? Yeah, definitely the worst premiership player running around.

As for Cyril, what has he done since '08? Sweet FA, that's what.

some people are stupid twits and should just be ignored. Haters gonna hate because their jealous as shit of what our current crop of players have achieved.

My favourite:

Mario Bortolotto

30 games for Carlton over 3 years ( 44 overall) for 4 finals played for Carlton for 4 wins in finals for 19 disposals in those 4 finals and played in 2 winning GFs getting 0 possessions in the 1981 GF after getting 3 possessions in the 1981 semi final.

In 1982, he got 9 possesions in a prelim win before 7 possessions in the 1982 GF for Carlton against richmond.

Actually was he the last bloke to win a premiership medal by sitting all day on the bench? He never got on in 1981 because of Scott Howell (a worthy nom???)

Still love to know how Paul Dear won a Normie, let alone a flag.......And also how Shane Ellen got 2, then there's James Theissen, Ben Marsh, Andrew Eccles, Clay Sampson, Aaron Keating, Pathetic Pittman (just how did we lose those prelims again) from the Crows, Shannon Motlop from North 1999, even Stephen Carey in the Essendon team of 1985 if you want to go back that far.

I'd suggest the "Fridge" Roberts and Stuart Anderson are two at the very pointy end of the list.

The esky was a great player.... in 93
I don't begrudge him his flag - it was a fairly deserving 21 I thought. He did kick 2 on the big day - but yes, I had to wiki that to confirm. Even Fairley kicked one that day

In 99 though - I thought we had many interesting selections - Cam Mooney takes the cake though
as I said earlier Shane Clayton was average and Shannon Motlop was also lucky

If you took it from 1999 Mooney would be very hard to beat. Unfortunately in the real world young players can actually improve as they mature. When the same guy kicks 5 in another premiership, and then contributes well in yet another one two years later, it kind of demolishes that argument.

Freame is still my pick. Aaron Keating probably runner up.
