Is Burton staying next year ?

Juniors do drop off, but you guys have had so much depth in the juniors the last 10-15 years, you only need 1-2 to come through per year to be competitive in div one.

Not sure about Burton.

Would have to speak to someone at the club to see where the former gun juniors just dropped off or are playing elsewhere.
Both Buykx and Burton were juniors who played elsewhere and then went back to PC. I wonder how many others about the same age are playing at other clubs.

So top 5 set today with a game to play, Altona v Hoppers play in the Eliminaton Final.

CS play Werribee at CS for top spot next week and a week off. Would be worth a look. Loser plays YSE in Qualifying Final.

Starting to think CS can win it.

Hasn't happened in D1 this century, as far back as my records go.

Shows what a great season this was in division 1. Most teams could have beat anyone on there day.

The two recently promoted teams Parkside and PCC have been more than competitive and should be an example to other teams coming up.

The mighty Warriors who finished last the previous season have made it into finals.

Nothing announced, just know that they have been in discussion about a move… more likely a 2026 option.

It may not eventuate, but talks have and will continue to be had on a move, rightly or wrongly!

Makes sense. St Albans and Deer Park will be the first of many.

Wouldn't expect the likes of Spotty to stick around either.

WFNL got a lot of work ahead of them can't afford to lose any more strong clubs, especially CS.

A gale blowing across the ground towards the bay, made it extremely difficult to play good football.

It was a case of Hoppers coping much better with the conditions than a poor Altona. Altona's handling and kicking skills were poor, work rate, enthusiasm and set up were second rate. Lost count of how many Altona kicks were intercepted by HC marks.

Hoppers were very good considering the conditions, could be a chance next week v YSE, but think it's at Yarraville with WD v CS at Skinner.

Also heard unofficially that CS is staying in the WFNL, Parkside leaving. Just talk in the crowd though.

Agree with all that. Altona were trying to play a normal hold possession style of footy which is near impossible in those conditions.
Hoppers were way too big and strong for them and played a more direct long kick game.

I thought Caro were lucky to hold on on Saturday, Yarraville wasted their opportunities.

Sidenote - $17 entry was a bit steep
