I wish we never left but my club had a good reason for it. Rupo on the other hand didn't lol. I couldn't think of anything worse than sunbury teams playing western suburbs teams. What a snore fest. East probably won't move to the WFNL now, if the leagues merge eventually it will be pointless them moving Turbo.

Why a snore fest, Vlo?

No disrespect to any teams in this league but I couldn't see anyone coming to watch games played at Sunbury or any Sunbury teams supporters at away games. No one will give a crap. I see it all too often now in the EDFL.

So Sunbury based supporters dont travel to away games in the EDFL and vice versa?

Do Lions supporters travel to Bendigo and did Rupo and Roos supporters travel in the RDFL in the their RDFL years? Just trying to understand their mindset.

You'll see some supporters at away games but generally its just players who hang around. I've been to some games where it's like a morgue. For the lions and rupo I'm not sure as I have nothing to do with them.

I just can't see any one being attracted to Sunbury games if the EDFL and WFNL merge together. I'm only going by what I've seen in recent times. But who knows I could be wrong. Maybe the WFNL faithfuls will turn up?

Jumping at shadows a bit Vlodrive, the only talk of a merged competition has been in here. A statement being put out about clubs not being poached for 2 years does not necessarily mean a merge. A lot of water to go under the bridge before that would be considered.

But if bizarrely they went down this path how do teams from the west harm the future of the Sunbury clubs ?

Too much talk of Sunbury and Rupo wanting to move again, they left the Riddell in a vulnerable spot when they walked and I know what I would be doing their applications if I was the RDFL 🚮

Kangaroo supporters usually travel and hang around. Well they used to.

it will happen eventually. Just put the leagues together then and see how it all pans out lol. If teams leave some will care, some won't. Just can't see anything exciting about Sunbury teams playing western teams. It's hardly interesting now against EDFL sides.

Luckily you aren't in charge of RDFL then.
Anyway, moving on.

If the leagues eventually combine, which seems likely, it’s not difficult to determine which clubs would go where. The stronger clubs would be placed in the higher divisions, while the lower-ranked clubs would be regionalized, in a similar manner to the Under divisions.

It’s not a complicated process. Even if (perhaps some) Riddle clubs are included, they will compete alongside other clubs of a similar standard and within a similar geographic area.

I'd say riddell will stay as is. Metro footy doesn't generate the same following, but I find it fanciful that no would drive 15 minutes further to Sunbury to watch footy or support their side.

I'm not sure there's really the need to put the two leagues together, Western suburbs are growing so there'll be more sides pop up, point cook could have another team in 3 or 4 years
