Training last night. WOW !!! Are Western Magpies playing in a out of season comp like in NT!!! Some one should let the club know the season doesn't start untill April 2009. You blokes will be stuffed by round 6. LOL

cast yr mind back 12 months ago when west footscray did the same to heights i belive north will bounce back and go undefeated next year and be in div 1 in 2010!!!!!!!!
Coach Dallas Harvey just wants a bit more run in the boys legs. If u remember earlier in the season we were up againt Deer Park, Albanvale and Parkside and we lost those games in the last quarter due to the other teams being better able to run out the game.
Things changed later in the season the boys were more fit and they smashed Deer Park and beat Albanvale.
I think what the coach was saying is that if he put his head down bum up he could be playing a higher level than WRFL. Mybe have a crack at VFL footy.
And Parkside were ordinary but did finish 4th mate so i we flogged them and finish 3rd i'd say thats about where we should have been. Abit behind the top 2 but alot better than the rest. Not under achievers!!!
As for the kids there were 2 under 18 playing this year, and about 6 from the last 2 years. So if half your side is under 20 you can only look up.
Recruit some older finals hardend players and things look very bright. The club is also the most financial it has been for a very long time so the future is bright.
Now it's just up to the playing group to take the next step, like Nth Footscray everyone from this year is on board.

Well there ya go a couple of months later the truth is told ...just so u know mate, we did rest about 9 players that game
a whole lot of b.s if u ask me
how do you think i knew about they rested players..........it was said when the mighty magpies rolled the cobra's that the cobra's rested players.........must have worked if they beat the eventual premiers the week after.........
Hey you have a big mouth for a kid you hasnt played a year in a seniors level, I tell you one thing this aint under 18's where ppl think they are tough, no body holds back int he seniors
just to give you one tip you better back your big mouth up cause your playing with big boys now.

Are you a straight walk in starts in the ones?
the kid might be under 18s, but he is 100% correct, sure, albanvale rested a few the 2nd time around , would of been stupid not to, but the point being , the first time around we were in front with 10 minutes played in the last quarter and got beat by 6 goals, im pretty sure you were at full strength that day,

Your right Choofa, you guys should have won first time round, were the better team on the day. We ( Albanvale ) didn't play well first time round but you guys probably just didn't know how to win and in the last 10 mins we got a run on and ran over the top. However not sure it was fitness mate more a lack of knowing how to win.....
Will be much better for it in the long term though.
And, in the last round we did rest probably 8 0r 9 players, however take nothing away from you guys, you played very well and can only beat the 21 players you are up against on the day..... No excuses from our end...... beaten by the better team on the day......

Have clubs started training and what are numbers like.
I heard Laverton might be a suprise packet this year.
Red Devil how are North looking, any new recruits and what are your training nights.
I know parkside are traing Mon, Wed and Friday and with a few new recruits we will be right up there come finals time. I think it should be a better year for the Parkers.
