Never said it was a massive fight mate, but definitely no need for blokes to run on the ground from the bench and get involved!!!!
Agree, but the fight happened about 5 meters from the bench and the hit by the West bloke was clear as day. Things get blown out of proportion sometimes, so providing a bit of context is nice too. We don't condone what happened, but both clubs were at fault and, as I said, the game was fine once it dissipated. One yellow for each team and game on.

The way you worded it made it sound way bigger than it was. I could easily say that West are a team that goes the fist when they are under the pump, but that is unfair too.

Boys, I wasn't there but reading these posts, and saying its 5 mts from the clubs bench is still totally unacceptable. Even if it was over the boundary line you can't have interchange players getting involved as that's very poor. What was the coaching staff doing during this incident. Where is the leadership?
If it's true players got involved the club should suspend them to set a standard as this type of stuff is usually down to club standard & culture..
On this forum people are showing support for Sunny Heights and there situation in div2, but this is not good.

I wouldn't fall for believing everything that you read on here. Heard of Chinese whispers?

Fairly certain that what happened was there was a scuffle near the bench and at that time a few players were rotated off by pure coincidence. When players come off players come on..... end of story :)

It was totally unacceptable- correct. As was the initial punch that started it. I don't condone any of it, but only bring up the location as the players that entered the field had seen first hand one of their brothers get belted. They were disciplined by the coaching staff who were doing their best to get players settled without entering the field themselves. Runner was instructed to grab our own players.

Anyway, put it to bed guys. Game is over. No suspensions from the incident. Neither club would be proud that this happened and I guarantee you it is not condoned by the leadership at Heights. The match played out well and both clubs even had a laugh about it during post-match presentations (on that, kudos to the number of Roosters in the rooms after the match).

Only reason I have commented at all is because the original post made it sound like there was only one side doing the wrong thing. That is not having a go at Votgetters by the way, as I agree that players entering the field is not on, but Heights weren't the (only) bad guys here. Anyway, it sounds like a lot worse was happening down the road.

If anyone from North footscary is on yeah just woundering if number 9 got suspended for his hit on McDonald late in the game
I think his name pilko

Cheers mate and thanks for the explanation of what occurred.

But I still don't understand your comment regarding the incident that sparked it was next to the bench and players were sticking up for there brother!!
I'm all for sticking up for people and if something untoward occurs your players should fly the flag and try to even up during the game, but this should be from the players on the ground not players off the bench. What if there is a fight on the other side of the ground, do the interchange players run over to "stick up for there brother", would hope not!
The players should be given a lengthy club suspension or even thrown out of your club. As this type of incident can cause all in brawls or even spectators might want to get involved. Where does it stop...

Anyway that's enough on this subject from me..

One of there brothers get belted??? Give me a spell mate, malia has played in the wrfl for 300 games, he would of taken his fair share of hits... Malia was NOT in the wrong throwing a few back, he didn't need any help from heros running off the bench... Yes it's all done with now so I will move on!

If Caroline loose to manor this week they will be 0-3. Hopefully they can turn things back around and hit the winners list. Seems as though they are always there abouts but just can't take the next step in big games.

Was a great win by ML on the weekend
Started the game slowly and worked hard to get back into the contest.
Was a very physical contested game.
Down to 1 on the bench in the final quarter but the more senior players stepped up and took control of the game.
Can't wait for this Sundays clash against Caroline Springs, going to be a cracking game of footy

They have played probaly the 2 best teams,so wouldn't write them off yet, 3rd and 4th definatly up for grabs.

Surely Yarra to good glen orden losing McDonald and Crea
No out side run
West should be to good yze to kick a bag
No backline for North
North v West in 1s and 2s should be good games Yarra v Glenorden should be close game as Manor Lakes v Caroline springs

West on their home turf to win by 4 goals with Hayden bray to cause absolute havoc in the conditions.. Yarra and springs to both get their first win in close games..
