West must have some good coin, cant understand why Dave Innella and Cam Saliba would go and play div 2 WRFL unless it was for pretty good coin....[/quote]

Inella played Div 2 in 05 so it's not really a step down for him... at his age and weight its probably the right standard for him to still be a dominant player.

Cam Saliba has signed along with dave innella bobby evans and a few other blokes from central altona and anakie in the GDFL Dave Innella and Stevie Lane are going to be hard to stop next year.

Maybe has something to do with the Assistant Coach and not so much about the coin?

Weapons... not sure if you have checked the Div 1 thread and the talk about the Lions goin to Div 1 if Parkside don't stick around... what would the pensioners think of that if it was to happen (not that I think it will). Interested in your thoughts. (maybe your mate Lions could answer that and add his first constructive post to the thread)

I think it would be hard for Deer Park to go up to div 1...i don't think we will because i think parkside will stay there but it would be interesting:thumbsu:

Unless there is some serious work from the parkside club - they look like going - they have an extraordinary meeting planned for this week or early next - their last AGM they had 10 people 2 of which where current executives that were all there to resign, and then to top it off darren Stanley their coach resigned yesterday!! So all is not well they have really self destructed. So it will be interesting what the league does, I'd suggest that they wouldn't want another bye in the 1st div

Would be interesting in regards to the Parkside decision. Do you guys think Deer Park could come up to A grade and be anywhere near competitive? Think its a bit tough on Deer Park, with such a late decision making it tough for u to recruit A grade footballers. Personally i wouldnt enjoy playing on that surface, but i know you are getting improvements shortly.
Also in regards to Albanvale, id imagine Ace would be keen to take a few guys but i cant see many leaving, if any. Ace will be awesome down at Albanvale, quality bloke and can coach. Would be a suprise to see what names people have, bout whos leaving Sunshine to the Cobras...

I will say to you that I know Saliba was recruitment by the Assistant Coach and Innella followed Saliba who he had got over to Anakie last season. Remember Saliba had played under this coach previously

What sort of shape is Inella in? Do you think West can play him and Lane out of the square together?

Does anyone have any news on North Sunshine. Even thogh they were crap last year they were probably on 4 or 5 players away. Any news on recruits?

BeginTraining in about 2 weeks nothing confirmed regarding recruiting, not going to go out of their way to get players just to play for $$$$. Still to appoint a Reserves Coach, will be doing that soon I hear. Have also got an Assistant to the Senior Coach from reports.

Have a few friends that play and played at Nth Sunshine all said the same thing there a some dills on the board that think they are bigger than the club, until they can get rid of them, the club will just be a run of the mill club.
But saying that if people around the club wont them out, they should stand at the AGM's and run against them instead of just bagging them.

In all seriousness Deer Park are way off the mark even if Williams, Madigan and McCullam all play ( all past greats of the club but on the wrong side of 30 ). In my opinion and if there were to be a second divvy club called upon to go up , I suggest it should be West Footscray. From what I understand they were not far off the mark and have recruited resonably well to date??.....any thoughts

As for "ace" as a coach...only time will tell. Granted he was an absolute gun player in he's day but does have a high opinion of himself....also it would be of intrest to see what his motivation to coach is.....

Any names?
Unfortnately not sorry can't help you there.

Would be interested in some names if you do not mind, The AGM was last week and there were not many changes at Committee level from reports. There is a new Administrator and the Senior/Junior Vice Presidents changed

If you were to name one or two could probably say yes or no to their names dont really know them that well.
Ps.. they tell me the acouple of trainers are annoying

if it ever came to it I don't think any club would volunteer.... we all know when u go up ur in for a couple of tough years (at best), most clubs could handle that if they had a flag hanging over the bar.... but it's a tough ask without the flag!

Does anyone know if the comp could force someone up?

Dont know about forced up, but the Kangaroos went up without winning a flag after West Newport folded, havent been sucessful until this year but there future looks bright.

Back when there were three divisions, Albanvale also went up a division without winning a flag. Newport won the flag and folded, hence one team short. As far as the league "forcing" a club to go up, they cound not force a team up against their will. They would however encourage a club to consider the move and perhaps make it worth its while.
