A prominent inside source from Western Magpies has declared record turn outs to pre-season training, including several high profile division 2 players looking to play with their mates and a couple of exciting new signings who are apparently training the house down at Laverton Park.

Unfortunately I haven't heard anything at all. I was under the impression they would have been started by now. Hopefully someone knows tomorrow.
We definitely do need the upgrade, both the home and visitors team rooms are substandard and undersized. It's pretty embarrasing in all honesty.

know fellas, Unit, Weapons, Tony and Unicorn. Enough with the talk, we just want to see the action when the season comes. I'm all for a bit of biff back in footy, and it seems like you blokes are going to provide an interesting contest.
Not taking any sides, because I'm a Wyndhamvale boy through and through, but Weapons, I have to agree, you have claimed to wanna get Unit a few times in a game. All good, but remember he is 17. Now I'm 18, but I assure you I'm a pretty big tall bloke, so if anyone wants a shot at me during the season against the Falcons, just yell out, I'm all for a bit of friendly fire. Because remember we are all Big Footy mates right? haha
Now, Unicorn, I hope you are not the Full Back of the Magpies. Because that would make you a hypocrite. Athough it's a very small chance you are lol. Because I remember been a 16 year old Full Forward in '05 and having 3 blokes try and take me out and start a melee with me when it was 3 of the Pies vs. Me in the forward 50. Just because they somehow found out I was 16 and thought I was easy pickings.
So it happens, but It's great that you want to stand up for a young bloke, so Unit, feel pretty safe if you do play, because the boys always stand up for you. Had a whole mob of Wyndhamvale players come help me against their backline. Anyhow am bored just thought I'd share that. Go Footy!

Ash Lewis had been burning up the track at North.... He is very mobile for a big fella and his skill are great.

Laverton have employed Steve Bourke as senior coach.
He has his assistant greg, otherwise known as "fages" or something along those lines.
Mal Hartshorne is definitely under 18's coach. The reserves do not have a coach atm.
unit27 was not wrong about mondays training. There was about 30 there. 25-30.
We've had a few people from other clubs coming down just for a run around. Can not guarantee they will play, but they've had a go. About 5 from glendordens premiership reserves, 3 from their seniors, 2 from west footscrays seniors... thats from the WRFL.
As steve was a coach from westbourne, there are a few under 19's coming down. A lot of new faces monday and wendesday. Good signs.
Very hard to tell at this moment really. I would love to name names as to who was coming down to train, but it wouldn't do anyone any good, if I said they were training and they ended up staying at their clubs. However, when it is closer to the season i will have no hesitation when it comes to naming names.
Steve and Greg are looking to try and improve laverton.. well err western (******** western, utter bull********, everyone knows it is lavo at heart imo) - whilst with the players at our disposal last place may be what will occur, we are going to endeavour towards a more consistant display.
I am not trying to talk the magpies up, but the coaches in charge are committed to trying and improving the club. Last season Timmy Cooper was in charge because it came to march and no one was coach - no pre season and no fitness and just a haphazard year...
As for w.weapons - I am under the impression lawry plays for a turf seniors.. not 100% sure. But he is a gun cricketer.
As for you planning to hit unit27 hard in the seniors, as soon as we get our jumper numbers given out this season, i will pm you mine. You are MORE than welcome to try and hit me hard. In fact, I would love to see you try
I am not saying you are ********, or you are chicken, or whatever. But if you want to try and throw the guantlet down to an under 18, well you may aswell have a go at someone closer to your own age.
I am not going to let someone threaten an under 18 with violence or hurt.
If it is just trash talk, cool - it's fine. If you are serious... we'll get serious

Is this the Steven Bourke who would have played in the VFA for Werribee in the late 80's early 90's. He would be close to 40 now?

Yeah, thats not on. Wasn't around for that game, but never like reading anything like that. By all means don't go easy on the younger blokes as they're playing in an open grade, but you do not go around looking for it based on their age.
Believe me they will need luck. Laverton are terrible and really need to improve this year. If they do pick up a few decent players from Glenorden they a chance.
Not to burst your bubble but at this stage Ash has been given permission to train only. We do not commence training untill the new year. At this time Ash is a required player.

i dont know what all this crap is about yes i did say id get him in the pack but ive seen him now and i wouldnt think about it now hes not that big at all and id probably squash him than deck him lol..........
he'd run away from me any way and he got his own with a couple of head hunters on the weekend 1 that nearly knocked him over...........
any way yes i throw my weight around and give a few bumps out when its the right time to do so unit youll be right if your playing and im running at ya for a shepherd just brace your self bud...........lol

There is no such thing as a required player any more!
That excuse can't be used, everyone is free, you don't even need permission to train at another club any more either!
The poaching rule has now been outlawed by Football Victoria.
Any player can train and get a clearance to any club they like, the only way to stop players moving is to sign them up on a contract, even if it is for no dollars, but who would want to sign that?

And as for the bouncer , good ball by young Dan Davis and the Unit was fine , if that ball was bowled at Weapons on the other hand he would try and belt the kid because when it comes to kids thats all Weapons can take his TOUGHNESS and RAGE out on... spoke to luke phipps today and he confirmed hes goig to west as coach thats a massive in for west probably dominate the comp in the mid field or accross the half back line..................we will see how he goes this time at west last time he left it was on bad terms and with him coaching now will the players repect him and listen to what his got to say.............
