Zangari and Kozole will kick 200 between them

Apparently word around getting these 2 players over the line is still a fair way off still owe club money and zangari still contracted so the lakes if they have any money will be paying big money before they leave there clubs!

Where are they getting there money from if they still owe players and are promising money to players coming in

My predictions are
The cobras to go one better
The suns
Braybrook
Lakes
Lavo
Titans
North sun

I think it's only between the top three again but sanctiary lakes will be a lot more conpetivive and nearly win but I wouldn't write off braybrook yet they got some signings that are yet announced!!

And 1 more thing why they playing div 3 football no offence to div 3 players but why don't they go test themselves instead of being big fish in a small pond

It happens in every league though, even in div 2.. Players like Yze, O'shea, Kennedy, Graham etc could easily play div 1.. Theres a a few players from a few sides in div 3 that could play div 2 as well. Maybe they enjoy being big fish in the small pond.. I dont know, me personally.. If i was good enough to play at a higher level i would.

runstraightline you are 100% right on Luke Johnson could not have said it better myself, he should have left when Gary Sheldon went. could not believe he was playing reserves in divy 3. looking from the outside I don't think the coach liked him. and yes hank you are a idiot

It sounds a bit like you two know eachother... All I said was he makes a lot of errors, which he does... You can't argue that. If he's as good as you two think he is anyway, why is he going to another div 3 club?

And try not to get upset this time, it's only 1 man's opinion. Toughen up ladies

In saying that, his physicality would've been invaluable against a tough side like Albanvale. I guess it was a 50/50

Hank, please enlighten me with a detailed please explain. "Physicality invaluable" want to make sure, we are talking a bout the same Johnson lad. I will be asking him next time I see him, I'd say his staying in div 3 because he wants to play against Braybrook. Watched him play in res gf and I've never seen angry as he was

His physicality would've been useful against a physical side like Albanvale, as they bullied us when we played them. Someone who can crash packs and lay crunching tackles might've been handy.
So he's going to play a shit standard of football just to play against Braybrook you reckon?....
All the best to him

For me I can't really write a ladder out as of yet but I can talk about strengths and weakness'

In no particular order:

Albanvale:
Strengths -
Physicality, they played for eachother and were not afraid to bump (fairly)
Fitness, though they lacked pace they ran sides into the ground

Weakness':
Pace, they weren't overly quick
Age, they were quite old
Depth, their ressies are a shadow of their seniors

Braybrook:
Strengths -
Teamwork, they played for eachother
Good by foot, disposal was pretty good

Weakness'
Pace
Height

Sanctuary Lakes:
Strengths -
Depth, their ressies won the granny and looked like they had a few 18's player in and about
Pace, they were a good outside running side
Fitness, ran sides into the ground

Weakness'
They applied poor pressure and had poor use of the body
Height, they were undersized
Muscle, they were again undersized, I know this is unfair as they were quite fit and other sides are a lot - for lack of a better term - "fatter" but they really were undersized

North Sunshine:
Strengths -
Disposal, they were good by foot
Age, very very youthful side

Weakness' (sorry north)
Discipline - they were EXTREMELY undisciplined and gave away too many free kicks
Speed - They were slow
Height - Undersized
Muscle - Undersized
Decision Making - Turned the ball over in silly spots far too often
Ruck - Their ruckman really has no idea what he is doing, yeah he is a big boy but it takes more than a big body to play ruck

Wyndham suns:
??????

Tarneit:
Strengths -
Speed - few quick players
Fitness - few fit players
Age - very young side, can only improve
Height - good mix of talls and smalls

Weakness'
VERY VERY SOFT
Poor by foot
Poor decision making
No ruck from what I saw
No big forward targets

Laverton:
Strengths -
I guess they had a few big bodies
Speed

Weakness'
Fitness
Age, they were old
Discipline , alike to north sunshine very undisciplined

That's my parameters for 2014, I can however see the following happening:

Tarneit improving majorly
Albanvale stagnating or declining (but only slightly)
Braybrook declining sharply
North Sunshine to improve
Sanctuary lakes to stagnate or decline slightly
Laverton to decline and finish last
Wyndham suns to have somewhat of an impact, maybe play finals

Any news floating abounds lads been quiet last day or so!
No more rumours on who's jeaving and whos signing where?

I heard Zangari had a meeting with Glen Orden tonight to discuss his contract. Woonder how that went.. Lakes will be holding their breathe..

More news out of S lakes now not only players not paid but also apparel providers owed a fortune and this is from a board member

How can the WRFL let any team that has these debts pay new players?

That's why clubs are struggling going too big too fast coz the egos can't accept they are in 3rd div

If they owed the wrfl money then SL shouldn't have played finals this year and should return division 3 reserves premiership cup and all the players/coaches medallions.
Only 2 years old and 50k down the gurgler I'm hearing from sources on the committee. Questions need to be asked but who will ask the question of the SL committee chiefs?

Interesting that the 2 clubs who came into the league 2 years ago and decided to put seniors on the track first without growing through their juniors like Caroline Springs and Point Cook and even Newport are both 'supposedly' in the sh1t financially. Will be interesting to see what happens to Tarneit in next year or so

Contested ball was actually one of Tarneit's strengths last year from the games I saw. Only problem is when they got it they turned it over because they either didn't hit a target or they didn't have a target to kick it to because they had no big forward targets.

If only all clubs had pokie revenue or rich benefactors with too much money and ego

I see, so I don't understand why fielding a seniors and reserves side is such a big negative other then these player payment accusations obviously? Players both senior and reserves both have to pay fees aswell as the juniors and with sponsors contributing also I can't comprehend how they are in such a "big hole"

Paying fees, if calculated correctly, just covers your expenditure costs. Adding Senior Coaching and player payments to your first few years expenditure will see you making losses and will be difficult to recover from.

For a new club, you need to grow a bank balance before you think about paying Senior Coaches and Players and this can be done through hard work with fundraising, sponsorship and canteen.

Even brand new clubs will have to pay a senior coach but agree newer clubs shouldn't be paying any players until the club is stable enough to do so
