Isn't a better approach telling him to put in the work and show us that he can be a midfielder rather than telling him 'no son, go somewhere else and understand that I'm always right '
your so full of wisdom captain obvious, but i think it comes down to coaching, Duursma's main quality in his first 2 years was his running ability to cover the ground beyond the average player, the last 3 years we havnt seent that at all and i think that is because he's been pigeon holed into a position that doesnt let him do that.I suppose a good example of would be issac smith, where he's got one attribute and that is running hard, if you take that away from him he's a very average footballer but the coaches used him to his strengthNo matter how hard Xavier Duursma tries, he'll never get to the level of Butters, Rozee, Horne-Francis and Wines. I know this might surprise some of you in this 'everyone gets a gold star, you can be whatever you want to be' world, but it's the truth.
Or as Clint Eastwood says:
Don't bother. Unless we have a starting 18 of All Australians and a bench of AA squad players we just don't have the cattle to accomplish anything.your so full of wisdom captain obvious, but i think it comes down to coaching, Duursma's main quality in his first 2 years was his running ability to cover the ground beyond the average player, the last 3 years we havnt seent that at all and i think that is because he's been pigeon holed into a position that doesnt let him do that.I suppose a good example of would be issac smith, where he's got one attribute and that is running hard, if you take that away from him he's a very average footballer but the coaches used him to his strength
Ken has done a wonderful job with his list of spuds, he needs at least to be given the opportunity to turn over his 5th list of players to show the football world his true ability, who else could we possibly get?Don't bother. Just a reminder that Dougal Howard is currently being shopped around by St Kilda and no one wants him.
Not sure why anyone is complaining? It's not like the guys we are targeting are going to make our defence any worse.
Janus isn't wrong though.

i think he's mainly been of half back but more importantly he hasnt been running like he use to, he was running upto 16km a game in his first 2 years. That was his strengthWhats this role we put him into?
Hasnt he been playing on the wing?

The same article also said that Essendon want Duursma to play on the wing.Essendon is eyeing a straight-swap with Port Adelaide which would see them land Xavier Duursma and lose Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, but talks between the two clubs are yet to ramp up
You just know that this is what's going to happen .Essendon is eyeing a straight-swap with Port Adelaide which would see them land Xavier Duursma and lose Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, but talks between the two clubs are yet to ramp up
Don't worry, we'll make it happen. The same article also said that Essendon want Duursma to play on the wing.
I don’t believe a straight swap is a fair deal your way and I just can’t see it happening
He wanted to play in the guts according to Kornes and Port said there were too many players ahead of him for that position.Whats this role we put him into?
