The Yellowstone series could have been written, filmed edited and be in the can had he not had disrupted and delayed.

But no doubt the writers strike messed up both Sheridans production plans, as it also did to Costner time line with Horizon.

I doubt they reboot it, certainly but with the cast we know.
Seems to be some bad blood between Sheridan and Costner.

Hard to imagine the following ever being as strong as it was without Costner’s role of JD.

Too much focus on the rattle snakes ( his spin off 6666 ), rather than focus on the Viper on home turf, this episode didn't do a lot for me to get a grasp of the finale.
Gave some shading, but very little colour.

A fortnight ago there were 6 episodes, to go to get to the conclusion, and that was number two.
So we have seen a third of it.
Sheridan needs to ramp the tempo up, otherwise the whole Yellowstone journey ends flat.

History shows that a lull in the tempo of the plot, is generally followed by a super charged boost.

The next episode seriously needs to forward the action.....otherwise it's going to lack some cred.

We are flying with the tail dragging type level
 
I thought Yellowstone jumped the shark a while back, and the two new episodes confirm that. The Jamie/Beth feud stuff is getting more ridiculous by the day. And the Kayce/Monica subplot where they keep trying to build their perfect life together, only for the rug to be dragged out from under them by family business is just bad. Worse, it's boring.

Only four to go so I'll keep watching out of morbid curiosity. But I think Seasons 4 and 5 of Yellowstone are Seasons 7 and 8 of GOT levels of bad.

I think I'm done with Taylor Sheridan. I doubt I'll bother watching 6666. 1923, I found excruciatingly bad, an absolute waste of the talents of Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford and Timothy Dalton. A pity, because he absolutely nailed it with 1883.

This; the rattle snakes were the most interesting actors of that episode

I also have struggled through Tulsa King

It’s Sopranos Lite but just makes a mess of the balance between crime/black comedy

Anyway “look me in the eye Norwegian” lol 😂

It’s Cliff has been quick but I tipped it the Season that picked up after the shooting of JD. They blew it with a garbage follow up of poor writing and storylines that led us to the mess it is today

I’m only watching now to see how it ends
 
Now that was better.

The Viper is DEAD ........... never liked her ........ well acted by her :thumbsu: .......... after this episode the script is flipped.

Really enjoyed her scenes. :$

I was disappointed with her death scene, it really deserved Beth to take her out. If done correctly, could have been legendary viewing. But I think this all now points towards her taking Jaime out now.

I dont think the ranch will be lost, though it should be from a story telling perspective.

The TV show is too financially lucrative. Im betting there will be a direct spinoff to this series.

I reckon they work some way, to get the majority of the Ranch passed over to Rainwater, that also for fills the prophecy that was first aired in 1883 - seven generations and all that.

That way the land get protected.
And it f**** up Market Equity and other developers from acquiring all the land.

The spin off Show - will be Beth and Rip moving down to the 6666 , Sheridan already owns the ranch so it will he a hell of a lot cheaper site to film on.

Little hint already that Beth has had enough of Montana and sees Texas as an appealing alternative - Montana is a constant reminder for her of Daddy’s tragic departure.

Also fits in with her idea of building a slaughter house and packing works, which pays a lot better return financially than ranching.

No matter what I think Jamie is f****d and he won’t be in any Yellowstone spin-offs.
Sheridan will offer Wes Bentley roles in other of his series - god know he is making enough of them.

Was surprising. No coincidence camera panned from Jamie to the alcohol and dna smeared glass.

Or was it the Wolf shooting?

That ended up being a pointless story arc? May as well go shoot Wolves in Montana. No consequences

I was in the USA in January 2023 and this was the most popular show there; magazines, tv interviews etc

How it came to this point so quickly is staggering

Ah yes the wolves. It was foreshadowed when Kay see saw one at his new home.

And was it e1 when they found a cattle with guts opened ? Anyway, I didn’t mind them working out Texas but when Beth turned up it didn’t work. I like when they get on their horses and go work out in the field.

I agree two years ago it was very very very good. Now we watch just so that we can say we did and complete it.
