Homer1 in regards to why not Dixon instead of Zorko. I simply don't think Dixon will have anywhere near the output of Zorko. He's playing full time forward of late which means he'll be lucky to avg 85 IMO. If he was in the ruck it would be a no brainer. Hale is useless, there isn't one fwd/ruck I could put there with any confidence but I know it has to be covered somehow, I just haven't worked it out yet  I think a sandilands/hickey/grundy ruck is unworkable as well.

Fair enough good luck :thumbsu:

Room for improvement?
Could downgrade Cotchin to Murphy and upgrade some rookies (Get Rohan, Laidler or Aish)

definitely agree on downgrading cotchin to murphy in order to free up cash.

*waiting to get shot by half the forum*
****** shotgun*

*Shoots you*

YEAH HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DO SUPERCOACH WHEN YOU'RE DEAD????

It's not that bad an idea, depending on what he uses the money for. I would definitely keep Cotchin over Murphy though.

Id have Xavier Ellis instead of Lemmens, otherwise great.

Can I ask why you include Landgon? I reckon will be a while befiore he plays. Thoughts on Langdon please?

Had a solid game against Richmond. 17 possies. Solid game against Geelong. Just think he'll get a game. If not then I just trade him out before round 1.

ergh... stan.. staaaaan. come closer. I have something to tell you....

But in all seriousness I have both of them :) :)

Probably made 3-4 changes during the NAB Cup, which is an improvement on previous years. Not getting sucked in this year.

The changes i made being...

Dunn - Roosys game plan suits him down to a tee. High possesion coming out of defence. Every confidence he can average 100 from rds 1-9 just like he has in the NAB Cup. Then will trade in for a walker/McVeigh type. DE is a premium in SC and he has shown it in spades the back end of last year and this preseason. Is a POD from the swallows & Grimes' of the world.

Webster - I like the cut of this guys jib, plays for saints too who will be looking for midfielders early on in the year.

Langford - showed enough in both games to be a d7-8. will sort out bench spots when teams are named..

Colledge - is a bolter in the forward line! will play no doubt about it.. only problem is could share the vest with Sheed and the like.

Cox - scored 79 only playing 40% of the NAB game played. Is a nice POD. and doesn't rely on getting 40+ Hitouts a game to get over 100 mark.
Is still the No.1 ruckman SC wise going into the season IMHO.

Went pretty heavy in the mids but that's where we score the majority of our points so not risking anything.

Hope to improve on my 370 rank from last year ;)

Not the strongest team going around... A you a Dees supporter? Probably not the best rookies to work with

Langdon will play Round 1. He gets an opportunity due to Scharenberg being injured.

he might but i think he has zero job security which must be factored in when selecting rookies. Tony Armstrong also a chance for that backline spot

Well the backs are certainly interesting!

None... All spent in mids and only having 1 rookie fwd on field. Not worth having 2 rookies in the fwd line so put them in the back instead! Quietly confident with my strategy

Oh you spent it all on the 4 mids. I think that's a waste. With that backline you should at worst have caddy at F6
Caddy's DE is terrible! More of a DT player them SC.. Tipping Webster to score the same amount of points as him by the bye rounds and 100k cheaper.. Webster only needs 20 to reach 80pts while caddy needs 25-30

whats everyones wage structure like?

because when youve got your team structure set its just choosing which players in that price bracket will do best (simpson or hanley .. watson or cotchin etc etc) so I was just seeing if everyone is almost set on the same structure and its just those players in that price range change. my teams sorta goes like this... (ill try include common lock in players to make it easier)

DEF
[S.Mitchell] [600k - 500k] [500k - 400k]
[400k - 3000k] [L.Thompson] [<200k] / [r] [r]

MID
[Ablett] [Pendelbury] [600k - 500k] [D.Beams] [500K - 400k] [<200k] [<200k] [<200k] / [r] [r]

RUC
[500k - 400k] [Sandilands] / [r] [r]

FWD
[Dangerfield] [D.Martin] [500k - 400k] [500k - 400k] [400k - 300k] [<200k] / [r] [r]

was going to make this a new thread but i dont have the right to lmao

Well this is my point, we have a very similar strategy. I have 5 prem mids as well, not all the expensive ones obviously. Sutcliffe at D5 and caddy at F5. I just think you are relying on those 5 mids too much.

Caddy's DE is terrible! More of a DT player them SC.. Tipping Webster to score the same amount of points as him by the bye rounds and 100k cheaper.. Webster only needs 20 to reach 80pts while caddy needs 25-30

Well each to their own, my point is that you should be pretty much 6 premiums up forward. If Dunn averages 100 the first 9weeks I will eat my hat and the hat rack. You should also note that Webster is playing in a horrible team, he'll be under far more pressure than Caddy, caddy will also make up for any poor de with tackles. I think he's 30 points better than Webster.
