who do you think was your best pick up this year? could be a rookie playing, a fringe player stepping up, or a pricey player who is performing extremely well

best
-simon black, very happy i went with him, reasonably cheap in relation to gun midfielders and good for 90+ a game
- nick stevens, but anyone who didnt get him is a fool
- jimmy bartel, woth the heafty price tag
- overall my rookies are performing well, palmer masten ibbostion rilio hill kruezer

worst
gilbee
lake
j. brown, class act but inconsitent so far

Dyson, Monfries and Gram were all pretty woeful picks in hindsight, with Dyson looking out of place amongst a struggling Essendon midfield, Monfries struggling to get a game early but getting constant 65's-70's now, which is not good enough for a guy I paid 300 K for, and Gram being dreadfully inconsistent.

Good pick ups seem to be Marc Murphy, Jason Porplyzia, Troy Simmonds (Who didn't?), Nick Stevens (Same as Simmonds), but also Deledio and Nathan Brown who rewarded the faith I put in picking both of them up with a pretty decent year of performances so far.

Rookie selections in Hill early, Palmer, Ibbotson, Kreuzer, Gamble, etc all looking very profitable, and Geary and Browne are starting to look very promising too.

Hits:
Bradshaw: has been absolutely invaluable to pick up a cheap back who can put in a big score and has established himself as a keeper.
Salopek: He was picked with it in mind that he would improve his average, but pushing 100 is more than expected.
Houli: Made 90k in the end, starting at a tricky price, not an overwhelming success but a pretty good return I think
Burton: Minus last week has has been fantastic
Porplizia: Mr consistent and doesn't look like dropping off contrary to popular belief
Deledio: Take out his first week score and his average would be pushing 100, very consistent
Stevens & Simmonds: You started WAY behind the 8-ball if you missed out on these two. Both keepers which is great value for price paid

This is not taking into account rookies: Wonaman, Masten, Palmer, Rioli, Gamble, Tippet etc who all go without saying.

Misses
Nathan Jones: The biggest miss of them all. This was my own fault for buying into the hype. Had the choice out of him and MMurphy and we all know how that ended up
BJ & JB: Coming good now as expected, but sad to know the big bucks spent on them could of gone to any of the forward success stories: Murphy, Didak, Franklin etc
Proud: The one touted as the saviour of the backline has managed just 3 games and doesn't look like maintaining a spot for any length of games
Dyson: Not really a loss, he made cash but not the return on investment that was promised

The good:

Stevens
Murphy
Salopek
Hill (had him from the get go as a cash cow even when nobody knew anything about him, didn't have to trade him in)
Ibbotson
Porplyzia

The bad:
Ryan Griffen
Nathan Jones
Ben Reid
Cameron Wood
Hartlett

I'll ignore the rookies as "good" - as unless you get a Joel Selwood - they aren't performing at gun level. So i'll just mention mid-range players who are performing above their starting price

The Good (note the lack of defenders)
Medhurst - YEAH!!!!
Didak
Porps
Burton
Hall (was good for a few rounds)
Stevens
Shaw
Simmonds

The Undecided
Ling
Embley
Goddard

The Bad
Gram
Wood
Selwood
Proud
My entire defence who keep getting injured - (Symes, thornton, guerra, kennelly, corne etc)

Best:
Pendlebury
Deledio (ahead of Cloke)
Aker (ahead of Thomas)
Porplyzia/Stevens - everyone has them though
The rookies - haven't copped a zero yet (have had scores of 7 and 14 though - and Wood for 3 rounds!)

Undecided:
Boak
Brett Jones (ahead of Waters)
Mattner

Worst:
Gilbee - really pissing me off, especially since I also have Ibbo/Mattner/Bones in my backline as well
Jonathon Brown - Will pick him up midseason next year
McIntosh ahead of Simmonds - About equal but Hamish way more expensive (yes, I'm the only person that doesn't have Simmo)
Wood
Aaron Edwards
Nathan Jones

Not the best starting team but have brought in Cox/Bartel/Chappy for Wood/Jones/Edwards. I'm not going to wait for the 'undecided' guys to come good (Boak would've been great if he was a defender), will upgrade all of them soon.

best pick ups:
H.Shaw
Welli
Woni
Franklin
Masten

worst pick ups:
Ladson ( could of got birchall who scored 50 more points tht round)
Grant ( could of got Rmurphy who scored a woppinh 149 tht week wen grant scored 20!!)
Kornes ( traded him for Boak this week who got 100 and Kornes got 60)
Mcloed ( well his scores speak for himself )
J.Hunt: (shit house)
Lade ( " " )

Ok picks:
Stokes (Wonts to be good when he wants to be)
griffen (slacks off as game goes on)
Fev ( fev is Fev)
Kennedy ( Good start bad last round)
Pav ( could be better)

I still have all these players. every week i change my team and it goes better if i dont soo....NO TRADES THIS WEEK for me..

Best: Didak, M.Murphy, Porpz

Worst: Nicoski, T.Clarke (got rid of him very early)

So did I, I was expecting a decent year from him though. Round 1 Clarke -> Priddis. Priddis got injured but I had decent cover.

Monfries was another shocking pick as was Fraser and Solomon. JB and SJ were not worth their price tags and Riewoldt hasnt scored above 66 for me yet:thumbsdown:. Lachie Hansen hasn't got a game yet either.

My good picks were Burton, Porpz, Stevens, Simmonds, Corey(had him captain round 1:thumbsu:), Ebert will go up a tonne in cash, Palmer before his price went up, Cyril. Almost forgot Bradshaw as well!

Best: Porplyzia/Stevens/Simmonds (Everyone has them though), Palmer, Rioli, Cross, Deledio, Didak

Worst: Stanton, N.Jones, Ellis, Mundy

has been ok i would say given his struggles for game time, has raised 60k (from memory) and is getting a lot more game time with hodge, crawford, lewis out, i will keep him till a few more hawk mids come back and untill drummond drops price in a couple of weeks, surely thats all you wanted outed of him, or did u expect a second year player to average 80+ and be a keeper?

He's been okay but a bad pickup for me because i was tossing up between him and Bradshaw.
