Adelaide has a few roughies. Now that the crows older players are gone, a few others could step up.

Tippett kicked close to 50 goals with knee tendonitis, if he can get over this he could be a chance. Walker will be in his 3rd AFL season, he may be a chance too.

Vince missed a lot of last season, Knights was injured all year, Porps was playing unfit, so a few who could be a chance.

From other teams I think Gwilt, Jack, Goldstein and Jurrah are the best options

Not really a big call but I think Ryan Griffen will definitely make it in 2011. Travis Boak is also a big show. I think these two and Pendlebury will really be rated highly by year end.

If Colin Sylvia could stay on the park id give him a rough chance. Shannon Hurn maybe as an attacking half back. Ben Reid and Paul Bower are improving rapidly.

I can understand the cynicism mate, but he is literally flying at the moment. He is the fittest he has ever been.

Is he using air travel as some kind of altitude training?

Maybe he's just so full of hot air he's become airborne.

More likely you need to look up the meaning of the word 'literally'.

Travis Boak, Chris Newman, Kiren Jack, Andrew Swallow, Alapate Carlisle and Travis Varcoe and Aaron Davey are all blokes without previous selection who I think have a strong chance.

If I'm going from left field I'll go with Clinton Young.

Mate i was at the Wafl GF dominated the season ,he will be good.
And fulfils the definition of a roughie but if he does make it, everybody will say he was dead cert with the benefit of hindsight :) I don't know if Sidebottom is a roughie as he announced himself when everybody was watching in the GF and already has a head start in people watching him from early next season. Wellingham is my smokie as he only has to improve his consistency - part of me hopes he doesn't though as seeing him excel in bursts in black and white is better than watching him as a gun in a different guernsey the season after

WAFL a fair bit slower than AFL. By that definitoin, anyone who "dominates" the WAFL should be a monty for the AFL?

He is too slow , always caught in the grasp and won't be able to keep up with AFL midfielders.

You simple don't get any quicker as you get older.

Krakouer had 41 possessions, four goals and six tackles in a WAFL grand final. They weren't 'easy gets' either, 24 of his possessions were contested.

Of course he won't 'dominate' in the same way at a team like Collingwood, but I doubt he won't be turning heads in the AFL.

As I said, it is WAFL.

He had 6 years to "turn heads" in the AFL.

His ability to win contested ball was questioned, it was his pace, which is usually the thing that separates players at the higher level.

If we are talking about actual Roghies, someone who not many expect, then I like Wellingham and Swallow from North.

My real roughie from my club is Jake King, I don't think he will make it but if his form from the last 5-6 games when played as a defensive forward continues he should be in contention. His kicking was superb, he never lost a 1v1, kicked goals, and defensive pressure and attitude is fantastic.
