Well another week has passed and the Raiders have fired Dennis Allen. How he survived this long is a mystery as he has gone 8-28 in two seasons. Raiders rumoured to be hiring anyone willing to take the job. It was also the start of the bye weeks and for a week that looked lacklustre at the start of the week it certainly lived up to those expectations.
Thursday night is becoming the night of the beat down as an on fire Eli Manning put the Redskins to the torch in what Giants fans are hoping is a turnaround in form for both the Giants and Manning. For as impressive as the Giants were the Redskins particularly Cousins were equally as bad. Cousins who looked like he may steal the starting job from RGIII may have just cost him that opportunity after this game. (45-14) Giants
Steve Smith faced off against the Panthers for the first time since his release at the end of last season. In typical Steve Smith fashion he made a statement although this time it wasn’t with his mouth where he let his play do the talking as he put up 139yds and 2 TDs one coming off a deflection. It’s the second consecutive game where the Panthers have really failed to fire a shot. Maybe Derek Anderson will get another chance to start again? (10-38) Ravens

The Bears and Packers faced off again in the longest running rivalry in football and the 1st half didn’t disappoint. The offences ran rampant and both sides benefited from some terrible decisions from the refs. In the 3rd though Bad Jay came out and threw 2 big interceptions effectively ending any hope the Bears had of winning. Rodgers posted a 151.2 passer rating, it was only the second game ever where no punts occurred, and Cutler has continued his terrible record against the Pack. (38-17) Packers
J.J Watt should be leading the MVP race as he again showed off how dominant he was in picking off Manuel and returning the ball for a TD in his sides close win over a lacklustre Bills side that is still showing its inconsistencies. In a fun fact J.J Watt now has more TDs than Calvin Johnson and Matt Forte. (17-23) Texans
I’m not sure why Tennessee decided to show up to Indianapolis, well to be honest I’m not sure they did as they didn’t put up much of a fight against the Colts who blasted their way to another victory to keep their season going. It was Luck’s day as he had his way with the Titans defence who have been obliterated ever since the 1st game. (17-41) Colts
It wasn’t a good day for the Jets and Geno Smith as his team went down to the Lions at MetLife. The chants of “We Want Vick” went out throughout the stadium as Geno was heckled by the crowd, Geno fired back but naturally he missed. If he keeps playing the way he does the We Want Vick crowd is only going to get louder. The Lions kept top spot in the NFCN, but how long until the meltdown occurs? (24-17) Lions
If you want to show off your sport to an international crowd you don’t send the Dolphins and Raiders, that’s like sending the Demons and Saints overseas. But nevertheless that’s what the NFL did and in front of 83,436 thousand people the Raiders got Dennis Allen fired. In more uplifting news for Raider fans Carr still shows promise so hopefully the Raiders don’t squander it. (38-14) Dolphins
The most disappointing team in the NFL had one of the biggest upset wins of the seasons so far as Tampa Bay came from behind in the last to score a shock win in the dying seconds over Pittsburgh who just flat out fell once their face at the end after devouring the Bucs defence in the first half. Antonio Brown continued his impressive season hauling in 2 TD catches including an absolute ripper in the 2nd. (27-24) Buccaneers
I’m not sure who is worse the Jags or the Raiders, in any case it’s nearly impossible to find out as their games are generally unwatchable. Unsurprisingly San Diego made short work of the Jags as they continued on their winning ways with Rivers giving Bortles a free lesson in what it takes to be a top QB in the league. At least Bortles while making rookie mistakes isn’t being overwhelmed by the situation. (14-33) Chargers
The Atlanta Yo-Yos continued their strange start to the season. Matty “Hot’n’Cold” Ryan continued his streaky play in a surprise loss to the Vikings who without Rudolph and Peterson and with Bridgewater starting his first game pulled out an unlikely victory that goes to show that the old age adage of “Any Given Sunday” still holds true (Jags and Raiders notwithstanding). (28-41) Vikings
In a game where the Eagles offence barely touched the ball they had to come up with new ways to score. They did just that as a blocked punt, interception and a big punt return by Sproles all scored in a game where Foles was decidedly poor. The 49ers needed a win badly and they did everything in their power to lose it. Luckily Frank Gore is still around otherwise they might’ve. (21-26) 49ers
The horror start for the Saints continues as they ran into the Dallas Cowboys who in Saint like fashion had an offensive field day as Romo threw 3 TDs (no INTs either surprisingly) and Murray continued a stellar season rushing for 2 more and a tick under 150yds on the ground. The good thing for the Saints is that they are miraculously only one game behind the Falcons and Panthers. (17-38) Cowboys
In what was a brilliant day for the Chargers not only did they continue on the trend of blow-outs they also broke the record for loudest stadium clocking up 142.2 decibels, so suck it Seattle. The play of Brady is rapidly declining and shows that even the greatest falter, at least he goes home to his supermodel wife and multimillion dollar house so I don’t feel too sorry for him. (14-41) Chiefs
Things to look forward to in Week 5:
1. No Raiders
2. Will the Bengals and Cardinals remain undefeated?
3. Will the Jaguars finally win a game?
4. Cards @ Denver
5. How will the Redskins/Jags/Bucs/Titans/Browns embarrass themselves this week?
