Well it’s officially past the halfway mark of the season and we are about as close to finding out who the best teams are since the start of the season. The MVP award is still up in the air due to a resurgent Brady and Big Ben breaking all kinds of records. Some teams came crashing back to Earth while others continue to surge towards the playoffs.

New Orleans has overcome a bad start to the year and are now probably going to win the NFC South comfortably with Atlanta, Carolina and Tampa Bay all falling in a heap. The Saints snapped a 7 game losing streak on the road with a win over division rival Carolina who had high hopes before the season started, I think it’s time to put the Panthers to sleep. (28-10) Saints
The Cleveland Browns after being a basket case for so long are starting to show signs of becoming a legitimate team again. If one weakness remains it’s definitely at QB with Brian Hoyer who I doubt will be able to match it with the upper echelon come the playoffs but where there is hope there’s a way. Also lol Tampa. (17-22) Browns
Dallas could be about to fall off a cliff. Romo is injured and a defence that was playing above it’s weight came crashing to earth after playing a red hot Arizona outfit that are now two games clear of Seattle. DeMarco Murray’s run came to an end courtesy of the Cards run D who haven’t let anybody tonne up in 18 straight matches. (28-17) Cardinals
It was a mixed day for Philidelphia, Nick Foles broke his collar bone, DeMarco Ryans tore his ACL, Mark Sanchez is now QB, they won and Dallas lost. Houston just couldn’t quite get things going on offence and it hurt coming up against the high powered offence orchestrated by Chip Kelly. The NFC East has become very interesting though. (31-21) Eagles
It seems like nothing can go right for the Jets in what has become a horrendous season. The offence is bad and the QB situation is worse. The defence just can’t keep due to a woeful secondary and things look bleak looking in from the inside. On the other hand the Chiefs are quietly going about their business creeping up to 5-3 even with Alex Smith yet to throw a TD to any of his wide receivers. (10-24) Chiefs
It’s been a rough season in Jacksonville behind rookie QB Blake Bortles who is throwing interceptions like he is Eli Manning. If he doesn’t improve quickly he might be in some trouble. A.J. Green returned for the Bengals and he was a sight for sore eyes especially Andy Dalton although that still didn’t stop him from throwing interceptions as well. Jeremy Hill had a stellar game to seal victory for the Bengals though. (23-33) Bengals
The worst day easily belongs to San Diego who haven’t won in South Florida since January 1982. Things didn’t get better as they ran into Ryan Tannehill who has gone on a bit of a hot streak since half time of the loss to the Packers. Philip Rivers had a shocker throwing 3 INTs and being sacked 3 times as well before leaving injured. It was the first shutout of San Diego since 1999. (0-37) Dolphins
Here’s a weird stat for you; Matt Asiata has scored 9 rushing TDs and they have all come in 3 games where he has scored 3 TDs each time. I say this because his 3 TD game helped the Vikes overcome the Redskins who welcomed back RGIII. The day didn’t start of well for the Redskins though as the team buses crashed on the way to the stadium thankfully nobody was seriously injured. (26-29) Vikings
The Rams are just finding ways to win the complete opposite to the 49ers who after having a good run with injuries the last 2 seasons have broken every mirror in San Francisco to severely weaken a once unstoppable defence. The Rams who had about 10 sacks coming into the game got to Kaep 8 times as the defensive line had a field day. The West is taking a pounding which the rest of the NFC will be happy to see. (13-10) Rams
It was the Manning and Brady show as both teams decided to let the old men duel it out through the air as the running games became an afterthought on the day. Yet it was Brady in his 200th career start who again bested Peyton for the 11th time. The Pats and Brady have been resurrected winning 4 straight with Brady throwing 18 TDs to only 1 interception in that time. I said last week the Broncos were the class of the AFC, well Brady is doing his very best to ruin that. (21-43) Patriots
The Raiders are slowly coming closer to that ever elusive first win and in what would’ve been the shock of the year that win nearly came against Seattle. It’s been a rough season for Seattle who started so well and have been overshadowed ever since. Oakland keep showing signs though and I really hope for their supporters sake they can snare that elusive W. (24-30) Seahawks
The Steelers capped off their third straight win behind Big Ben throwing another 6 TDs to become the first player in NFL history to throw for 12 TD passes in two weeks. It was another spiteful clash between Pittsburgh and Baltimore who absolutely hate each other. Terrel Suggs went low and dirty to the knees of LaGarrett Blount nearly sparking an all in brawl as tempers started to flare. In the end Big Ben and the Steelers had the last laugh. (23-43) Steelers
The time of Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin appears to have come to an end in New York after the Giants were again hammered and suffered a third straight defeat. The Colts after being belted last week got some revenge of their own as Luck throw a franchise record 7th straight 300yd game. While impressive he has been throwing 50 times a game. (40-24) Colts
Things to look forward to in Week 10:
1. Who will QB the Cowboys?
2. How will the Eagles offence fair?
3. Rams v Cardinals
4. Can the Raiders notch an unlikely win?
