So after about four weeks of awful play, Cleveland’s Brian Hoyer was relegated to the bench. The worst thing was that Manziel was then promoted to starter. Other than that it was a week where teams start to emerge as potential champs or pretenders and the MVP race narrows down to about four people (Aaron Rodgers, J.J. Watt, DeMarco Murray and Tom Brady).

If the Rams or Cardinals had competent QBs their teams would nearly be favourites for the NFC Championship, unfortunately they have some of the worst QBs in the league due to playing backups. Overall this won’t bode well for the playoffs as the Cards are struggling to score or move the ball at all for that matter. I’m predicting one and done for a once dominant Cards line-up. (12-6) Cardinals
If you can pick a winner from either the NFC South or the AFC North then can you give me this week’s lotto numbers? In both divisions both teams can win the division or lose the division and while the AFC North is strong the NFC South is the laughing stock of the league. (27-20) Steelers
It was an NFC East grudge match; unfortunately it was a cellar dweller matchup. Odell Beckham Jr solidified his standing as an excitement machine and genuinely good WR with another 100+yd performance and 3TDs. For the Redskins RGIII didn’t totally suck so there was that. (13-24) Giants
Just when you thing Miami has things going in a positive direction Tom Brady comes in and stomps on those hopes with his tailored uggs. It wasn’t pretty for the Fins as they had been building to this showdown for the past couple of weeks and performed like a potato for the nation. (13-41) Patriots
Alex Smith must really hate his wide receivers, he is still yet to throw a TD pass their way all season. In other news the Chiefs didn’t lose twice to what can only be described as an eclectic Raiders outfit that is either made up of rookies or over-the-hill veterans. Luckily for the Raiders their rookies/2nd year players are playing at a very high level. (13-31) Chiefs
It seems in the AFC South that only Colts can get good QBs otherwise every other team flounders around for years looking for the Answer. The Texans have found the answer in J.J. Watt unfortunately they don’t let him throw the ball in order to keep the league at an even level. Unfortunately this means the Colts win the division most seasons and this one is no different, only just though. (10-17) Colts
It was finally happening, the unwrapping of Johnny Football, the great hope of Cleveland Football. It turned out to be the unravelling of Johnny Football as the Cincinnati defence played with a hapless chew toy. It was brilliant mainly from the perspective of if you hate the hype surrounding Manziel. (30-0) Bengals
If the Ravens weren’t facing the Jaguars and rookie QB Blake ‘Turnover’ Bortles then this game would’ve ended in a humiliating defeat. Instead the Ravens have kept touch with the rest of the AFC North as they moved one step closer to a playoff berth and the Jags moved one step close to a number one pick. (12-20) Ravens
The Packers once again came up against one of the NFLs most physical defences and once again came up short as the offence went into derp mode after half time. Rodgers had his worst ever game as a pro throwing for 17 completions on 42 attempts for 185yds no TDs and 2 INTs as the Buffalo front four had their way with the Green Bay line. The Bills need to solidify their offence though to be true contenders as E.J Manuel has proved to be a bust. (13-21) Bills
It was one of those NFC South showdowns again. Tampa’s defence is above average but their offence would be better run by their amazing cheerleaders. Carolina simply don’t suck so much as they get compared to the Bucs. Derek Anderson started for the Panthers after QB Cam Newton was involved in a car accident where he injured two transverse process’ in his back. (17-19) Panthers
There are teams where you can see a glimmer of hope; the Jags, Raiders, Vikings, Jets all have this based on certain aspects the Titans have nothing. In the NFL winning is everything sometimes that isn’t always the best result as the QB needy Jets lost to the QB needy Titans and lost a draft place in what could be detrimental to next season. (16-11) Jets
Denver is riding it’s hopes on free agent signings from the last couple of seasons none bigger than the arm of Peyton Manning. Pey-Pey has seemed to hit a wall in the colder months as his performances have dropped off and the Broncos have turned to defence and a power running game to win matches. It was enough against a San Diego team that has proved to be once again a run below the top teams of the AFC. (22-10) Broncos
The Lions seem blessed this season. The Packers lost and the Lions have once again escaped a close game with a victory. How long this can be kept up will remain to be seen as one of the most potent offences on paper was once again left floundering against the might of the Vikings defence. (14-16) Lions
It’s turned into the NFLs biggest rivalry of late as the Seahawks hosted a struggling 49ers team. It played out as per usual as the Seahawks smothered the Kaepernick led offence of the 49ers. The Seahawks look formidable in the lead up to the playoffs. The 49ers though look like they will be without a head coach next year and potentially a QB depending on what happens. (7-17) Seahawks
This wasn’t only a NFC East grudge match this had serious playoff implications on the line. It was simple the Eagles win and they are in. Instead they choked as Sanchez threw a game deciding interception against a better team again in what has unfortunately dogged the Eagles all season with their back-up QB. (38-27) Cowboys
If you looked at this match at the start of the season you would be licking your lips at two high powered offences facing off against each other with big play-off implications. Instead we had major draft implications at play as the hapless Saints and Bears faced off against each other. It’s a travesty that the Saints at 6-8 are in the box seat for the NFC South when a properly good team will actually miss out. (31-15) Saints
Things to look forward to in Week 16:

- Atlanta @ New Orleans
- Kansas City @ Pittsburgh
- Indianapolis @ Dallas
- Seattle @ Arizona
- Denver @ Cincinnati
