The Hawks have provided Fantasy gold over the years, as befits one of the sides that has been one of the power teams of the competition for many seasons.
Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis and others who may or may not have departed for more northern climes have long formed the backbone of many sides.
But as with their great rival Geelong, can the established Hawthorn players perform again? If they do, you will need them if you want to win.

GET THEM IN
Shaun Burgoyne (DEF/MID $491,000)
A dual position and a nice price for this proven gun. I like it. A lot.
Luke Breust (FWD $425,000)
Hard to see Breust dropping off in form dramatically. Gets a lot of it, loves a goal. Good forward option at that price.
NOT WITH A BARGEPOLE
Cyril Rioli (FWD $459,000)
Sadly I think we have seen the best of Cyril. Yes, he will still do some blinding things but his body just won’t hold up to sustained punishment.
Jordan Lewis (MID $621,000)
Lewis is a champion but he will need to back up a career best year just to keep his price steady. Looks likely to lose dollars.
WORTH A PUNT
Jed Anderson (MID $172,000)
The wraps on the kid from Hawkers are high and he could well get a good run at it this year. If so, get him in.
Brendan Whitecross (DEF $258,000)
Has had a horror run with inury but if he can get a clear go at it, worth a shot with this price. Probably later in the seaason.
