Contact between Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy and North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell from the first quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. After viewing all available vision, including down the ground vision, the panel said Grundy was moving back to the centre square after a goal was scored when Ziebell stepped into the path of the Collingwood player. Ziebell sought to block Grundy and high contact was made. It was the view of the panel that Grundy was seeking to get past his opponent to return to the centre and the contact was not deemed to be reportable. No further action was taken.
Contact between Collingwood’s Jesse White and North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell from the first quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. The two players were watching play on the wing and moving towards each other on an angle. As contact was about to made, White braced for body contact and Ziebell went to ground. A free kick was paid at the time to the North Melbourne player by the outside zone umpire. It was the view of the panel that White’s actions were not reportable and no further action was required beyond the free kick that was paid at the time.
Contact between Collingwood’s Travis Varcoe and North Melbourne’s Brad McKenzie from the second quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. After viewing all available vision and speaking to the emergency umpire who was in close proximity to the incident, it was the view of the panel the pair were grappling when high contact was made. The force used was below that required for a report and no further action was taken.
