The three nominees for Mark and Goal of the Year have been announced, and while Eddie Betts surely has the goal award sewn up, awarding the best mark of 2016 is a trickier question.

Majak Daw and Joe Daniher are nominated for almost equally impressive high leaps over a single opponent, while Rory Lobb’s courageous mark offers a distinct alternative in the vein of Nick Riewoldt or Jonathan Brown’s classic grabs.

Betts is a shoo-inĀ for Goal of the Year, although Shaun Atley’s solo effort from the boundary line is also worthy of nomination. Buddy Franklin’s goal is, well, long. That’s about it.
