Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield will be out of the race for the Brownlow Medal should he accept a one-week suspension for rough conduct from the AFL Match Review Panel.

Dangerfield’s tackle which left Carlton ruckman Matthew Kreuzer concussed was judged to be medium impact and careless. The Cats will be risking a two-week ban should they appeal and lose.

Retiring Hawthorn champion Luke Hodge was charged with a third minor offence for 2017, and will therefore also miss a week unless the Hawks can successfully challenged. The four-time premiership player’s gut punch to Tom Papley was deemed to be careless conduct with low-level impact to the body.

Buddy Franklin and Taylor Adams were also fined for minor indiscretions.
