BRISBANE LIONS v ADELAIDE CROWS
G , 7:25pm AEST Saturday, July 21, 2018

  • If I told you this time last year that Brisbane vs Adelaide was one of the hardest games to call in rd 18 you’d have looked at me like I was crazy. Might be a different story at Adelaide Oval but the Crows will be up against it at the Gabba.
  • Berry, McCluggage and Rayner. The three tyros tore up Hawthorn last week. Exciting times ahead for the Lions.
  • The worst of the injuries are past. The Rorys are up and about again. Don’t dream it’s over, Crows fans.

CARLTON v HAWTHORN
ES , 1:10pm AEST Sunday, July 22, 2018

  • Finals slipping away for Hawthorn. Been an up and down season for the Hawks but their change to take on the likely wooden spooners comes at the right time.
  • Carlton’s season hasn’t been up and down but probably feels very, very long for their supporters. Still get to watch Zac Fisher and Patrick Cripps though, a future midfield group is slowly emerging.
  • Lobbe’s first in navy blue. Former Power ruck could make his debut for Carlton with Kreuzer out managed after his heart scare and Andrew Phillips injured.

WEST COAST EAGLES v WESTERN BULLDOGS
OS , 1:20pm AWST Sunday, July 22, 2018

  • Emotional times at the Eagles. They’re back in the winners column and their forwards look near unstoppable but Nic Nat out is a body blow that will be hard to recover from.
  • Hard to tell if this is a good or bad time for the Dogs to go to Perth. If Simpson’s Eagles are anything like Beveridge’s Dogs a big player going down as finals approach could inspire them to greatness.
  • Yeo v Macrae should be a great midfield battle. Two dynamic mids at the top of their game.

PORT ADELAIDE v GWS GIANTS
AO , 4:10pm ACST Sunday, July 22, 2018

  • The Power were embarrassed by the Dockers last week. Expect them to try and put the Giants to the sword in front of a home crowd.
  • These are the two best clearance teams in the competition. Don’t expect the absence of Paddy Ryder to stop bulls like Wines and SPP from getting to the ball.
  • Great to see Adam Kennedy back for the Giants. One of their more understated players who had been sidelined since round seven last year.
