1. Woosher was wrong. It was a year wasted for Essendon. You can look at it like a development year but they could have won the flag if they made it to finals. The last two premiers have shown if you’re in it you can win it and the Dons won’t be.

2. Brodie Grundy is a superstar. He has always had high expectations placed on him and you feel that he’s just scratching the surface of the player he can be.

3. Ross Lyon does not have Fremantle tracking in the right direction. He’s playing a lot of kids sure but a side with Neale and Fyfe in the midfield shouldn’t be conceding 23 goals in a row.

4. Buddy Franklin doesn’t need to train. Apparently has only trained for 20 minutes this year since his footy injury in round 1. Doesn’t seem to really make a difference. He dominated the Giants.
