The AFL advises Western Bulldogs players Josh Bruce and Bailey Smith have elected to challenge their respective charges through a written submission to the Tribunal with each outcome to be communicated tomorrow, Wednesday July 7.
All other players accepted their sanctions from the Match Review of Round 16 of the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
AFL Tribunal, Tuesday July 6 (Financial Sanctions):
Josh Bruce, Western Bulldogs has been charged with Engaging in a Melee, during the first quarter of the Round 16 match between the Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne, played at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, July 4, 2021.
A second offence for Engaging in a Melee is a $2500 sanction.
Bailey Smith, Western Bulldogs has been charged with Rough Conduct (Dangerous Tackle) against Ben Cunnington, North Melbourne during the second quarter of the Round 16 match between the Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne, played at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, July 4, 2021.
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Low Impact, High Contact. The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence.

Liam Stocker, Carlton has accepted a $2000 sanction for Striking Lachie Schultz, Fremantle, during the second quarter of the Round 16 match between Fremantle and Carlton, played at the MCG on Saturday, July 3, 2021.
Levi Casboult, Carlton has accepted a $3000 sanction for Engaging in Rough Conduct against Alex Pearce, Fremantle, during the third quarter of the Round 16 match between Fremantle and Carlton, played at the MCG on Saturday, July 3, 2021.
Nat Fyfe, Fremantle has accepted a $3000 sanction for Striking Lachie Plowman, Carlton, during the fourth quarter of the Round 16 match between Fremantle and Carlton, played at the MCG on Saturday, July 3, 2021.
Luke Shuey, West Coast Eagles has accepted a $2000 sanction for Striking Callum Mills, Sydney Swans during the second quarter of the Round 16 match between the Sydney Swans and West Coast Eagles, played at GMHBA Stadium on Sunday, July 4, 2021.
