Collingwood defender Brayden Maynard’s two-match ban for striking GWS’ Daniel Lloyd has been confirmed by the tribunal.

Tribunal chair Jeff Gleeson, and jury members Wayne Henwood and Jason Johnson, agreed with the AFL’s case that Maynard acted carelessly when he swung his arm to spoil Daniel Lloyd in Sunday’s pre-season game.

“In approaching and affecting the contact the way Maynard did, it could be reasonably foreseen there would be contact to Lloyd’s head,” Gleeson said.
