Hawthorn Football Club and the Tasmanian Government have extended their agreement, ensuring the Hawks will continue playing in front of their Tasmanian fans until at least 2025.
The deal includes playing four home matches each season at UTAS Stadium, building upon the club’s long-standing partnership with the Tasmanian Government since 2001.
Hawthorn President Andy Gowers says the club has a strong commitment to the Tasmanian community, as seen through their various community and school programs, investment in junior football, and efforts to make their big match days accessible to disadvantaged groups.
Gowers and Hawks CEO Justin Reeves both expressed their excitement about the extended deal and its benefits for the club and the Tasmanian community. The deal also provides certainty for the club, and live AFL football for the state as it continues its pursuit of its own AFL team.
Hawthorn also thanked the Tasmanian Government and the City of Launceston for their ongoing support.
