Adelaide has announced its coaching staff for the 2023 AFLW season, with Marijana Rajcic and Riley Knight joining the team as assistant coaches. The new additions will work with Senior Coach Matthew Clarke, as well as assistants Courtney Cramey and Emma Sampson.
Rajcic, a two-time premiership player, retired from AFLW last month and will now oversee the defenders. Knight, who played 55 AFL games for the Crows, will be in charge of the forward line. He has been playing in the SANFL with Woodville-West Torrens and is currently taking his Level 2 coaching course.
According to Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper, both Rajcic and Knight bring the right skillset to become successful coaches with the team. Cramey will continue as the midfield assistant coach and will also take on the full-time development role, while Sampson will support her in the midfield. Jack Madgen, a SANFL player, will join the coaching staff as a development coordinator.
Former forwards coach Peter Caven will not return for the 2023 season after being at the Club for six years and participating in two premiership wins in 2019 and 2022. The AFLW sign and trade period is set to take place from March 10 to March 20, with the start date for Season Eight yet to be confirmed by the AFL.
