The AFL Players’ Association is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its 22Under22 team by launching a “Team of the Decade” competition. The competition will allow fans to vote for their favourite 22Under22 players, selected between 2013 and 2022, to create the ultimate team.

22Under22 is an honourary team that seeks to recognise the best young talent in the AFL and AFLW. Seven players, including Christian Petracca, Dustin Martin, and Jack Ziebell, have been given dual position status based on where they played the majority of their football during the 2013 to 2022 period.

Fans can cast their votes at vote.22under22.com.au from February 20 to March 1, 2023. The final team will be announced on March 9, 2023 via the AFL Players’ Association’s social media channels. The fan whose team is best matched to the final team will win a custom 22Under22 Team of the Decade jumper and a $250 Prezzee voucher, thanks to Snaffle.

You can see all of the eligible players on the AFLPA web site.

Many of the 22Under22 representatives have gone on to achieve great success in the AFL, including winning Leigh Matthews Trophies, Brownlow Medals, Coleman Medals, premiership medallions, and being named to All-Australian teams. This competition is a chance for fans to celebrate the young talent that has come through the AFL over the past decade.
