The anticipation for the 2023 AFL Premiership Season is reaching new heights as the general public tickets for the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon have sold out in record time. The tickets went on sale on Wednesday, February 22nd, and were completely sold out just six days later, on Tuesday, February 28th.
But there are still ANZAC Day tickets and function packages available for the ANZAC Day match at The Golden Ticket.
The Executive General Manager of Customer and Commercial, Kylie Rogers, stated that the early demand for tickets is a clear indication of the excitement that the footy season is generating among fans. Rogers said, “Footy is almost back and the anticipation from fans continues to build. Ticket sales for Round One are tracking strongly – we’re expecting a big crowd for the season opener, while the buzz around the AFL’s ‘Gather Round’ has been great.”
The AFL’s ‘Gather Round… A Festival of Footy’ has also been a huge hit among fans, with all multi-day passes selling out. Four of the nine matches in the festival are now at capacity, following the recent sellout of Adelaide Crows vs Carlton, Brisbane Lions vs North Melbourne at Adelaide Hills, and the doubleheader between Essendon vs Melbourne and Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval.
If you haven’t secured tickets yet then The Golden Ticket has a range of AFL Gather Round tickets and packages.
Limited tickets are still available for the following matches:
- Fremantle vs Gold Coast SUNS, Friday 14th April, Norwood Oval
- Richmond vs Sydney Swans, Friday 14th April, Adelaide Oval
- GWS GIANTS vs Hawthorn, Sunday 16th April, Norwood Oval
- Geelong Cats vs West Coast Eagles and Collingwood vs St Kilda (doubleheader), Sunday 16th April, Adelaide Oval
Get ready, footy fans, the season is just around the corner!
