The AFL has announced a rescheduled start time for the Round 24 Toyota Premiership match between Hawthorn and North Melbourne at UTAS Stadium in Launceston on Saturday, August 24. The game, originally set for 4:40 pm, will now begin at 12:30 pm AEST.

In response to this change, the Richmond vs. Gold Coast SUNS match at the MCG, initially scheduled for 2:10 pm, will now start at 3:20 pm AEST. This adjustment was made to avoid overlapping with other games, as the Geelong vs. West Coast match at GMHBA Stadium will proceed as planned at 1:45 pm AEST.

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon expressed gratitude to the clubs, broadcast partner Foxtel, UTAS Stadium, the MCG, and all officials involved in facilitating the schedule changes. “Due to circumstances out of our control, we have decided to move the Hawthorn vs. North Melbourne match to an earlier start time of 12:30 pm. We thank everyone for their cooperation in making this adjustment,” Dillon said.

He added that the later start time for the Richmond and Gold Coast SUNS match allows fans to watch all the action without missing any of the day’s events, including Dustin Martin’s lap of honour at the MCG.

“Round 24 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting rounds, with top eight spots on the line throughout the weekend. We couldn’t ask for a better way to conclude the 2024 home and away season,” Dillon remarked.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly by ticketing agents regarding the changes to match arrangements.
