Rising young star Ashton Moir will be staying at IKON Park for the long haul, putting pen to paper on a new deal that sees him in the Navy Blue until at least the end of 2027.

The 20-year-old forward has made waves this season. Above all, his standout four-goal performance against Melbourne in Round 19 earned him a well-deserved AFL Rising Star nomination. Known for his flair and composure in front of goal, Moir is quickly becoming one of the most exciting prospects in the competition.

Carlton fans will no doubt remember his unforgettable first AFL goal: a jaw-dropping overhead bicycle kick against West Coast. A Goal of the Year nomination effort that showed off his incredible X-factor.

Moir’s ambidextrous kicking ability has also set him apart, a skill encouraged from a young age by his parents. That versatility and unpredictability make him a constant threat inside 50.

Wearing the No.43 guernsey with pride – a number previously worn by club greats David McKay and Anthony Koutoufides – Moir is certainly beginning to write his own chapter in Carlton’s storied history.

He joins fellow up-and-comers Lachie Cowan, Matt Carroll and Harry O’Farrell in committing to the club. This signals a strong future for the Blues’ next generation.

Carlton Head of List Management, Nick Austin, said Moir’s development is just beginning.

“Ashton is only starting to scratch the surface of what he is capable of, so we are looking forward to seeing him use the next 12 months to do all he can to push for more senior opportunities,” Austin said.

“He is an electrifying player; he brings a lot of energy and intensity to our forward line. Ashton’s ability to own the moment and stay level-headed in high pressure situations is impressive for someone his age.”

“The foundations Ashton has laid this year have given him a great platform to launch into 2026 and beyond, and we can’t wait to see what he can produce in the Navy Blue.”

Carlton fans have every reason to be excited — Ashton Moir’s story is just getting started.
