Port Adelaide’s Junior Rioli has been given a two-match ban by the AFL Tribunal for his hit on Essendon defender Jordan Ridley.
The forward was originally facing a three-match ban, but the Power managed to convince the Tribunal that the strike was severe, rather than high impact.
Rioli collided with Ridley in a clumsy attempt to block for a teammate during Sunday’s game, resulting in Ridley being subbed out of the match with concussion in the second quarter.
Rioli will miss Port’s matches against North Melbourne and Melbourne.
