The Carlton Football Club has bolstered its future with three exciting additions from the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft. Harry O’Farrell (Pick 40), Ben Camporeale (Pick 43), and Lucas Camporeale (Pick 54) join the Blues, fulfilling childhood dreams and strengthening the club’s list.
Harry O’Farrell, a 197cm intercepting defender, brings versatility and athleticism to Carlton’s backline. Known for his ability to lock down opponents and create offense from the defensive 50, O’Farrell showcased his talents with Vic Metro, Calder Cannons, and St Kevin’s. Despite injury setbacks in 2024, he remains a highly rated prospect, now set to develop under co-vice captain Jacob Weitering.
Twins Ben and Lucas Camporeale continue their father-son legacy at Carlton, following in the footsteps of their dad, Hall of Famer Scott Camporeale. Ben, an inside midfielder, is renowned for his work rate, contested ball skills, and leadership, earning South Australia’s MVP at the National Championships. Averaging 26.8 disposals and 4.5 clearances per game, Ben’s stellar 2024 season also saw him claim the McCallum-Tomkins Medal.
Lucas, a dynamic outside midfielder, complements his brother with exceptional endurance and tactical running patterns. Impressing on the wing, Lucas averaged 20.8 disposals at 71% efficiency and gained senior experience in the SANFL. His athletic prowess was evident at the AFL Draft Combine, excelling in vertical jump tests.
Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin expressed excitement about the trio, calling them key components of the club’s future. With a rich mix of talent, legacy, and promise, the Blues are setting the stage for success.
