Charges laid:
Dennis Armfield, Carlton, has been charged with a Level One Misconduct Offence ($1200 sanction) for misconduct against Grant Birchall, Hawthorn, during the second quarter of the Round 13 match between Carlton and Hawthorn, played at the MCG on Friday June 13, 2014.
In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.
A first offence for misconduct is a $1200 sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to a $900 sanction.
Dennis Armfield, Carlton, has been charged with a Level Two Striking Offence (125 points, one-match sanction) for striking Grant Birchall, Hawthorn, during the second quarter of the Round 13 match between Carlton and Hawthorn, played at the MCG on Friday June 13, 2014.

Michael Barlow, Fremantle, has been charged with a first offence for Making Reckless Contact with an Umpire ($2600 sanction) for making reckless contact with umpire Leigh Fisher during the second quarter of the Round 13 match between Fremantle and Richmond, played at the MCG on Saturday June 14, 2014.
In summary, he can accept a $1950 sanction with an early plea.

The match-day report against Hawthorn’s Cyril Rioli for engaging in rough conduct against Carlton’s Zach Tuohy was assessed. The panel said that Tuohy had the ball and was being tackled by Hawthorn’s Paul Puopolo as Rioli also moved in to tackle the Carlton player. As Rioli was preparing to tackle, Tuohy lowers himself in the contest and some high contact was made. After speaking to the umpire who laid the match day report, reviewing all available footage and receiving a medical report from the Carlton Football Club, it was the view of the panel the high contact with Rioli’s arm was below the force required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
The match-day report against Collingwood’s Marley Williams for striking the Western Bulldogs’ Nathan Hrovat was assessed. Williams and Hrovat were grappling when Williams made high contact to his opponent. After speaking to the umpire who laid the match day report, reviewing all available footage and receiving a medical report from the Western Bulldogs Football Club, it was the view of the panel the high contact was below the force required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
The match-day report against St Kilda’s Mav Weller for making forceful contact from front-on against Geelong’s Mark Blicavs was assessed. The ball was loose with Weller and Blicavs coming to the contest from opposite directions. As Blicavs reaches down to collect the ball, Weller also has his hands down and turns side-on as he prepares to gather the ball. High contact was made, resulting in a free kick to the Geelong player. It was the view of the panel that Weller was contesting the ball and had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball. No further action was required.

After speaking to the umpire who laid the match-day report, reviewing all available footage and receiving a medical report from the St Kilda Football Club, it was the view of the panel the high contact made was below the force required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
