Week 16 the penultimate week in the regular season, it defines not only the teams’ season but the players on that teams’ season. Everything is coming to a close and all of the awards have incredibly worthy winners this season with each top 2 candidate having a worthy argument for winning (which will be discussed at the end of the season).

The Titans suck, plain and simple for a team that a thought was on the rise they have plummeted quicker than Malaysian Airline stocks. The Jags behind Blake Bortles have shown potential but Blake needs to cut down on the turnovers to ever make it as a QB, although Eli Manning showed that isn’t necessarily true. (13-21) Jaguars
The best thing about divisional match ups is that anything can happen. This proved to be true as Philadelphia travelled to Washington in what was a must win game for them. In the end the Eagles proved to be pretenders to the NFC title as they lost to the lowly Washington Redskins. It hasn’t been easy for the Eagles dealing with a depleted O-line from injuries and a broken collar bone to Foles but in the end the defence is horrendous. (24-27) Eagles
If you go for the Chargers I feel sorry for you as you’ve would’ve suffered some form of heart attack or palpitations all season as you’ve been but through the wringer by your team. This week they kept the slim hopes of a play-off berth alive against a San Francisco team playing only for pride at this stage. (39-35) Chargers
You wouldn’t expect a Minnesota and Miami matchup to turn into a shootout, but that is exactly what happened. Both of these teams are experiencing growing pains but from an NFL point of view we want these to happen as the Vikings can challenge the Pack for the NFC North while the Dolphins can challenge the Pats for the AFC East. (35-37) Dolphins
Houston have gone a different route to everyone else, instead of building a world winning offence they have built a world beating defence at the moment it is sort of working depending on the QB play. This day it worked as the Texans beat up on the Ravens to enhance their playoff hopes and all but end the chances of the Ravens making it to the big dance. (13-25) Texans
The Lions offence is like that crazy person you used to date. One week amazing, the next week they are burning photos of you together. If it wasn’t for the best front four in the business the NFC North would already be the Packers weeks ago. It isn’t to be though as the Lions have set up one of the best games of the season with what could be a season defining victory. The Bears still suck. (20-14) Lions
Cleveland should never make the playoffs for starting Manziel and the Panthers shouldn’t make it because they are terrible. As it stands it depends on which fence you sit on as to the result. The Browns aren’t making the playoffs but Carolina as set themselves up with a date with destiny. (13-17) Panthers
The Saints bounced back against the Packers weeks ago with an emphatic victory, it appears that was enough for them as they have been trounced ever since (but only because of the refs from once stalwart supporter). This loss has put the Saints out of contention for the NFC South and let the Falcons in with a chance of proving to be one of the worst playoff teams ever. (30-14) Falcons
The Bucs defence started off on fire intimidating the Packers’ offensive line and putting Rodgers out of rhythm. The Bucs obviously don’t like their QB or RBs as they allowed McCown to be sacked 7 times and their RBs to notch 16yds on 14 attempts. It was literally a field day for the Packers defence in a match that revealed nothing on either team. (20-3) Packers
There is one of two reasons for Alex Smith not throwing a TD pass to a WR this season. 1; A WR slept with is wife, 2; He just isn’t very good, 3; Andy Reid calls bad plays. I like to think it’s a combination of 1 and 3, just don’t let your imagination run too wild. Pittsburgh needed a win and they got the perfect result at the finally of their match to setup a post-season berth. Antonio Brown has also had a beyond amazing season when you look at his physical stature compared to other top WRs. (12-20) Steelers
Divisional matchups are the biggest wildcard to predict. This week was the Patriots against the Jets. In the end the Pats did enough to scrape over the line against the Jets whom QB Geno Smith and HC Rex Ryan are feeling immense heat. If Rex wants to be DC again he is more than welcome in Green Bay. (17-16) Patriots
A couple of years ago everyone would’ve said Odell Beckham Jr’s size was against him. No more. He has clearly taken a strangle hold of the OROY award with outrageous catches and amazing WR play from a rookie being a lone hand in an offence that has been crippled with injuries and bad play. The Rams need to try again next year with an average to above average QB. (37-27) Giants
No matter what team you are if you have playoff aspirations you need to beat teams that only have two wins come the 16th week of the season. The Bills after beating up on the Packers obviously thought they would romp it home against the Raiders. Derek Carr proved a tougher opponent than MVP favourite Aaron Rodgers though as the Raiders notched win number 3 and playoff spoiler number 3 as well. (24-26) Raiders
A four year play-off draught was emphatically smashed by Dallas as they quite literally smashed Indianapolis and a three game losing streak at home on a day where Philadelphia lost to the lowly Redskins. The Colts with not much to play for played one of their worst games in years but taking games off at this time of year proves to be a terrible mistake. (7-42) Cowboys
It was a battle of the NFLs biggest bandwagon against the NFLs biggest injury list (well according to certain fans on BigFooty). In the end it was the bandwagon which ran over the injury depleted Cardinals that simply no longer have an NFL quality QB to belong in the playoffs, regardless of how good their defence may be. (35-6) Seahawks
It looked like an easy Cincinnati win at half time then the 3rd quarter happened and Peyton and the Broncos happened. Thankfully for the Bengals the rains came and so did Peyton’s noodle arm as he threw 2 picks (including one returned for TD) to end any chance of a comeback by the Broncos and forced them into a must win match to secure a first round bye. (28-37) Bengals
