This year we could (probably will) become the worst performing team (win/loss) in the history of the AFL

Coaches, CEO, everything etc its not working. Enough is enough. We are wasting a good list with letting their heads being so comfortable in losing and competitively soft. Clarko, All coaches, Sonja awful decisions (noble, Shaw, Ben, and now Clarko) please leave, bloody anyone else on the board piss off. All been bullshiting us for too long now.

We got opened up by a bulldogs VFL team, and had underdone players. We still couldn't get it done. We need some tough and hard leaders at our club, some true shinboners

A lot of melts here and in the game day threads, but I'm cautiously optimistic after that game.

Guys like Sheezel and McKercher, who we know are usually elite users of the footy, had shockers tonight in terms of their disposal and decision making.

The Bulldogs were absolutely gifted several goals by the umpires, and that ended up the literal score difference really. On the flipside, felt like we got zero assistance from the umpires.

We had plenty of opportunities but missed gettable goals, burned inside 50s, and looked a bit too lazy in terms of defensive intensity. All of these things are fixable.

Yeah, that loss hurts and I'm not suggesting otherwise. But seeing some of the melts here tonight has me scratching my head a bit.
Don’t use umpires mate. Coast to coast defensive transition cannot be linked to umpires. Umpirings a weak as **** excuse

Konstanty and Hansen are nice bonuses, our key defenders looked all at sea and hopefully we get a look at shotgun and matlock soon.

Our mids are still defensively lazy, and blokes like zurhaar go for glory instead of doing the team thing.

Colby had a stinker and is being played out of position. Finn looked better for the run.

Their half backs and ball use killed us, need our half forwards to defend better plus would love us to look at the modern game and get the likes of Hardeman in to use the footy better off half back.

There were positives and yada yada but I'm getting tired of this shit.
My thoughts exactly. Same old shit from Simpkin and CZ. They both are putrid kicks. Cost us time and time again.

Why don’t we ****ing draft players like Richards and Dale. Players like them kill us all the time. They can run and kick 😡

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's something like 15 wins and 101 losses since 2020?

Call it optimism bias, but plenty to be happy about.

The dogs are a good seasoned team with trusted structures and plenty of talent. We responded several times, and that was without Sheezel/Kerch dominating. In previous years, the loss would have been 50+. Zurhaar aside, the forward line is operating way better.

Plenty known issues of course and it sucks to lose and see Logue go down, but overall more a positive day for me.

Eh, I thought there were some real shockers in terms of calls and non calls in the first half by the umps, but it didn't feel at all like they had an influence on the momentum of the game, and frankly that's about the best you can hope for.

We just have no idea how to win a game. Dominated large sections but copped it whenever they broke forward. At least we battled but our start to basically every quarter cost us in the end. Darling was good. Konstanty showed a bit so some of the list changes we’ve made have improved us so that’s positive. We need one of Dawson or Whitlock to get to afl standard asap. Onto next week.

Didn’t effect the game.

5 goals unanswered in the first and 3 goals to start the last were the difference

Defender Comben defenders in shambles rn

I appreciate the positivity and usually I try to have a positive mindset; this club has given me a lot of joy over the years so I'm trying to be upbeat, but we really are our own worst enemy with decision-making and our lack of basic skills. We ruin our own chances. To me it just seems like regulation stuff that we just can't execute. I think it's fair to be critical of that stuff.

Having said that, there were indeed some good signs tonight which have been mentioned.

I feel like we might be better against Melbourne next week.

Our round one match is barely over and I'm already gaslighting myself to believe in the possibilities of next week, lol.

Very frustrating game. We were in positions to get ahead with the momentum behind us but once again we just weren't able to find that killer instinct.

Overall though a 100% better performance than last year against the dogs. Play like that more often with better polish in the forward 50 and coming out of defence and we'll be winning more games than last season.

Meh. As time continues to march on I'm pretty confident a whole generation of players have been (somewhat) broken by the number of nails already in the coffin. It's why it's so imperative we have wins, not just good games, this year. Sheezel and co have to reach all their milestones knowing how healthy football is played. They have to.
By the end of this year, he’ll be cooked as well.

We play a first and last quarter like that then write it off. We aren’t winning shit

Poor first quarter and first 5 minutes of the last, were the game.
We were on top or at least breaking even for the rest of the game. Missed opportunities in front of goal also cost us and we should've been in front at 3/4 time.

Looked better offensively than we have for a long time and the forward line functioned well for the most part.

Was about the result I expected, so there's no melt from me. But still frustrating to blow opportunities to take the game right to the end.
