Autopsy Round 1, 2025 vs GWS @ MCG

Good leadership to set us up after what appeared to be a behind. Don't think anything Lever did would have changed the outcome after Bowey (fairly) gave it away.
You can do that without having to basically flag it to everyone that it was not a goal. Like it's just a small thing and I agree that it may not have changed the outcome but it could in other instances whereby it may convince an umpire to go upstairs etc. Like it's just a minor thing but his low footy IQ, exemplified with his 'spinning around' moment against Brisbane in the knockout final a couple of years ago, costs the team time and time again.

Lever was largely very good on the weekend, you need to complain about something else

They're footballers, they're all stupid.

Clayton Oliver in that final we lost telling Patrick Cripps to wipe the blood of his face is my favourite bit of "footy IQ". He shoulda been pointing it out to the umpires so Cripps got sent to the bench.

Blows my mind someone who flops as much as he does would do that :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

Remember when Buckley wiped his own blood on someone else back in the day to try and get away with it lol 🤣 those were the days

You need to stop with this stuff dan. The Brisbane game where he gave that 50m penalty was completely irrelevant - once he got caught HTB the game was over, they could burn 30 seconds having a shot and we still had to score twice in under a minute to win the game.

Forget pissing away a 22 point lead at half time with a 6 goal to 2 3rd quarter, it's levers fault.

He was better in a lot of areas this game... and he's trying to punch the ball well clear, to kill contests in our back 50...
... and he floated in for many a mark inside D50. Was clean in the air.
But this was a lot to do with Petty's & Tmc's great play on they're opponents. Allowing Lever some freedom.

A better game from Jake, compared to past seasons.

Yep, that just showed the poor mentality we were playing with, the past couple of seasons.

I think I'm probably in the minority here but I'd rather us win fairly.
Patrick Cripps broke the rules bleeding everywhere and staying on the field. Tainted semi-final win.

The top deck of the Warnie and Ponsford stands were shut so I'm not sure about that? Completely delusional if true. I was surprised they got 22000.
I'd be very surprised if the club expected 40k. Have we ever had 40k against the Giants? I highly doubt we expected that many. Maybe 30k is achievable. GP was on and wrather was atrocious. I actually thought the crowd considering was ok. Not great, but far from a disaster. Tigers got 19k to the G last year against the Giants.

In typical Jake Lever fashion, after the Jake Bowey goal (that he signalled touched to his teammates) he takes the opportunity to scream at the top of his lungs 'toooouuuuuuccchhed, it was effin touuuchhhhhed' so the entire field could hear it and half the stadium. The complete lack of footy IQ and game sense of this guy is mystifying and infuriating. Good player but decision making and footy IQ is horrendous. You can tell your teammates to prepare to set up a zone without screaming 'TOUCCHHHHEEEDDD' louder than the Taylor swift concert.

Also, late in the last quarter, deciding to kick it sideways 10m to Viney instead of going inside 50m was an absolute brain fade. It was obviously called play on and arguably cost us the game. No more or less than any other big moment in the last 5 minutes but that one stood out.
Lol. I gave Lever votes for Sunday. Thought he was great.

All three tall defenders were pretty decent, but could definitely see how Lever took charge overall with May out.
Nah he was shit. Tried to take charge with his gut instinct to set the ground up for a behind to defend a kick in so that he and his teammates where ready for something that still resulted in being a goal anyways, ****ing campaigner
