I would rate our mongrel players

Tex
Cheney
Kelly

Potential mongrels that the coach needs to bring it out in them

Greenwood if he wasn’t so religious
Harto
Pohlkoke
Brown
Fogs

We just lost Lever and Cc who both had mongrel, Lever was full mongrel he will be missed

You underate Hartigan as he will enforce when needed. He already does more than 2/3 you mentioned.

He’s too bloody nice, I’d like him to have that hodge or Vossy attitude but he simply doesn’t come across that way

May be nice off field, but that doesn't necessarily translate to onfield.

Dangerfield would disagree with you...

I list Brown in the mongrel sort of category. He absolutely loves a sledge out there and isn't afraid to have a go at an opposition player. Just because he isn't beating the crap out of people physically doesn't mean he's not an unsociable footballer.

The question remains do we need to be harder edge more unsociable mongrel players along the lines of hodge Mitchell Lewis to win the flag

We were that close was that what were missing or will bringing in and developing young players be the difference

If you look at the hawks when they were on top they had hard edge then they would bring in a mongrel like Brian lake

See, you can use Lewis, Mitchell, Hodge as examples, but it's damn hard to get players of that quality into your club, let alone in one year. I'm sure we could have gotten a few "unsociable" players in, but would they have even made the best 22 for us? Gibbs was the option available to us, so we took it. Same with Gibson.

The question remains was our physicality where we went wrong in the GF

Or was it as I think our big names just failed to stand up at the big dance

I would have liked us to make a play or Hodge over the preseason.

Maybe next year we can go for Westhoff if he retires at season end!

It was the second option. We beat the piss out of GWS and Geelong the two preceding weeks this is the infuriating thing, it was the best opportunity in 20 years and the team again forgot to turn up for the full game. They have a fragility that appeared on the wrong day.

How can it be nonsense then are you saying he is lying

His comments were, he has been working on his disposal and that was the part of his game which is holding him back from getting a game in the AFL last year and it proved to be correct. It wasn’t made up

I watched him in the bay game and it was clearly his Achilles heal

I don’t take too much from champion data but that indicates this aswell

But you can ignore or deny all this if you like, some players have elite disposal some players are ok and some players are poor, just don’t let the poor ones kick too often they still play AFL footy CC was a classic sometimes with poor disposal

Read my post again Marty, I didn’t dispute that Jenkins said it, I was disputing Kristofs ridiculous post that Jenkins wouldn’t have watched Doedee.

Jesus, you two half wits insulting me is like being hit with a lettuce leaf.

JJ repeating the exact line that Doedee himself said in a club produced video about what he was trying to improve. Wow, clearly he's being outspoken, repeating the company line word for word.

You're absolutely kidding yourself if you think Jenkins is monitoring the development of a player in the lower leagues. He's repeating was he's heard said. Nothing else, and completely empty words.

Ahh to be a kid again...
Just think, if we're still on bigfooty in 20 years time...

"I didn't see them, but Ablett, Dangerfield, Judd, Martin can't hold a candle to Bulbasaur McSquirtleFace. He's the new prototype midfielder!".

Right now we're hearing the same shit, with 90's and 00's players ignored. Roo, Voss, Bucks, Hird, etc.

Only a half wit would think any player at a footy club wouldn’t know what’s up with the rest of their players, especially senior players. They would know the strengths and weaknesses of each player and what they are working on. I’m stunned you don’t think this occurs.

I know you are in QLD and don’t get to see it, but the 1st players regularly go watch SANFL games.

I think this is a case of you digging your heels in because you can’t admit you got it wrong and admit you were shown up by two half wits ;)

Everyone knows his Achilles heal is his disposal whether it’s his kicking or decision making I would say kicking looking at how he kicks

JJ was asked about the inclusion of Doedee on AA it wasn’t a dig just that he needed to improve his disposal being that part of his game if he wants a promotion

Every player regardless of who has a part of their game the coaches want them to improve

And every player would know what they are

Ah I see. You are defending your statement that Doedee’s kicking is “fantastic” by pointing out that it wasn’t just Jenkins who said Doedee’s kicking needs to improve - it was Doedee himself.

Good job with the oh so cutting insult you added, that was a nice touch. You are doing great!

Haha, good pick up.

My statement about Doedee's kicking being fantastic?

Are you new around here? Have you not read the hundreds and hundreds of posts of Marty saying EXACTLY THE SAME THING?

OVER AND OVER AGAIN?

He's literally posted about that Jenkins interview thirty times. He's posted about the Glenelg game two dozen times. He must have posted his opinion on Doedee's kicking a hundred times.

He is the most boringly predictable poster on this board. He's Rainman repeating the same thing over and over again, and he's desperate that one of our talented young players end up not having a successful career.

Frankly, I think it is absolutely pathetic that a supporter of a team would cheer AGAINST one of our players.

I commented on Doedee's kicking because I knew Marty would predictably say the opposite. I refuse to agree with him on any element about Doedee, until Doedee has had a chance to actually prove himself, or not.
