That first one to Rowe I still call bullshit on. He dropped the knees and lifted his arm IIRC. There is also another one where the Adelaide player drove his head into one of our players legs and got the high contact free which is incorrect yet says Brodie doing the same thing was incorrectly called high contact.
Anyone willing to recount the free kick tally based on this? Feels like it'll skew even more in favour of Adelaide

Yep. I hate that action. That and driving themselves forward in the tackle for an in the back.
Cant expect the umpire to adjudicate it though, they have enough to worry about.
I’d prefer if each game was reviewed, and players were quietly fined $1k every time they did it.
Happens in the AFLW a lot too, which is extremely dangerous. Though the penalty would have to be less.

There were a few though, where Adelaide received a correct free kick, almost immediately after a non-call against us, which wouldn’t have happened.
We get one or two of those calls go the right way in third, we can then slow things down and take some control.
Re the umpiring - looking back on it - I can't remember massive howlers, but I just remember every single 50/50 call going to Adelaide; and the opposite happening to us. This normally swings back and forth throughout the game so the free-kick tally evens out. Yesterday it was consistent to Adelaide, hence the lopsided free-kick count against (even though we dominated 2.5 quarters of the match).
For example the 'play-on' calls to Shultz when he was lining up for goal in the 2nd quarter, and Brayshaw in the fourth are technically there; but it wasn't consistent with Adelaide. Fogerty lined up 5 mins before Shultz's set-shot and had a big arch but it wasn't called play on. Minor stuff but it adds up.

I can't believe the Adelaide player just grabbing Chapman and pushing him front on in a contest without eyes on the ball is given the all clear because Chapman was holding him too.

Could have subbed Brodie off for not having any lungs.
(I like what he brings, but he did run out of puff. Really think the plan is to have the three of Fyfe, Mundy and Brodie play 60% each, only two on the field at a time)
If it was a final - absolutely, but it's round one. We technically can't do that. You can probably only get away with it once - maybe twice during the season. We won the match regardless so we made the right call.

I thought it was an independent doctor on the boundary that has to assess any injury for the injury sub to be activated to stop teams exploiting it. Or am I confused and that is not the case?

Not sure.
I thought the independent medico was for the review afterwards, and the club copped a fine if they were playing games.
Pretty sure that’s only for concussion.
But again, rule was brought in in a hurry, and I’m not sure if the minutiae has ever been released.

Everyone will move on because we got the win. I don't know if there is anything official. I highly doubt it - or it's behind closed doors the club speaks to the umpires boss.
Doesn't change the fact it was a disgrace.
